Very close to a lot of wineries in Mudgee, and on enough land to feel really private, we loved staying here for a long weekend as a way to get out of Sydney. The home was well appointed, easy to get in with good communication, and decorated nicely. Would definitely stay here again
Everything was 10/10. A spectacular place and property - the photos don’t do this justice. Loved the table tennis, outdoor area and overall feel of the place. It’s don’t with the utmost care and detail. Can’t wait to be back.
This is our third family stay at Abercorn. The first was necessitated by a family wedding, but subsequent stays have been for family breaks. This property is beautiful, functional, and thoughtfully appointed. I appreciate that Sarah had stocked the kitchen with those little basics that you tend to forget - some herbs and spices, oil, vinegar, basic baking supplies, etc, and there was a lovely bottle of wine as an arrival gift. The bathroom products were lovely and we appreciated the number of bathroom options for a larger family stay. But these things are all surpassed by the beauty and gracious feel of the property. We were comfortable and ushered into a peaceful state. Sara kindly responded to my sporadic questions and supplied what we needed. If you have a little crawling bubba with you - ask for the installation of the little child-proof gate over the stairwell. This gave us peace of mind and was much appreciated, as was the high chair. Overall, our stay was wonderful. Thank you!
Abercorn is such a beautiful property and was perfect for our stay in Mudgee with a bigger group. We wish we had more time to soak it all up!
Abercorn is a delightful home for a relaxing and restful group stay - large, spacious, stylishly decorated and spotlessly clean, with super comfy beds. This magnificent property had everything we needed and fabulous country views on all sides. Conveniently close to town and many lovely wineries. Thank you Sara and Matthew for a perfect stay.

I'm a retired rare books librarian and bookseller and I love reading (you'll find lots of books in Abercorn), speaking French, buying old furniture at auctions, cooking, chocolate Labradors, and ginger cats. Yes, we have one of each, plus two wonderful children. My husband, Matthew, built the house at Abercorn, with the help of some truly outstanding tradesmen and friends. It stands on the footprint of the former cellar door of Abercorn Wine.
