Talking about the neighbourhood, we cannot just mention one... we must rather speak about probably the two loveliest and most typical neighbourhoods in Lisbon: Alfama and Graça, because our NEST is located right between both of them.
What about Alfama? Well, imagine a serpentine of narrow streets (most of them not wide enough for cars to go through) where you should just get lost and wander around the streets up and down. We usually say that if you do get lost, just walk downwards until reaching the river bank... :) You also cannot miss the Panteão Nacional which is within Alfama. Also, this is the neighbourhood where Fado music was born, and you'll indeed find plenty of small restaurants where you'll be able to listen to some Fado during a nice dinner (we'll recommend you a couple of spots if you decide you want to try it...).
And how is Graça like? Imagine a hill showcasing fantastic views over Lisbon... There you go! This hill showcases the most amazing landscape views over the city, so please do go for a coffee or beer at the coffee shop next to Graça's church (it's a 3min walk from home) and get blown away by the views. You can also have fantastic views from "Miradouro da Senhora do Monte" which is 5 minutes walking from the NEST. At the door of the flat you'll have the historical 28 electrical tram line (quite nice to jump in and take a ride all the way down to downtown Baixa - or upwards if you're coming back home), but if you just prefer to take a walk (which we fully recommend) you'll find awesome places nearby, like the Alfama neighbourhood (1 min) and the Panteão Nacional (5 min), St. Jorge Castle (10 min away), Baixa downtown is only 15 min walking, and so many other city attractions... And of course, Graça is flooded by some awesome coffee shops, restaurants, and local shops.
So, what are you waiting for? Prove yourself how much charming Graça & Alfama both have to offer to everyone who visits them...

If you're coming by plane to the Lisbon Airport (relatively close to the city centre), there are pretty much 3 options:
(1)Taking a taxi / Uber:
A good option is taking a Uber/Cabify (cheaper than the typical taxis). Please consider that Uber/Cabify drivers usually pick customers up at the Departures area (not Arrivals) at a Parking lot called "Kiss & Fly" - takes roughly 20/25 minutes to arrive to the flat (of course, dependent on traffic).
(2) Via private transfer (journey will cost around 35€ (each 5-seater car – payable in cash directly to the driver) - we will request a quote in case you're interested):
This is the most comfortable option, and if you'd like, we can help out arranging a private transfer with one of our partners to take you directly from the airport to the Nest – the driver would be waiting for you at the Arrivals area with a board with your name written. Please, try let us know about 48h in advance if indeed you’d like to hire a private transfer.
(3)Alternative option is to take public transports:
•By Bus only (whole journey will take roughly 45/60 min): take bus "708" from stop "Praça do Aeroporto" to "Rua da Palma" (13 stops - about 20 min), and from there you can walk about 12 min (800 metres) until reaching the flat - bear in mind it's walking upwards from Rua da Palma.
•By Subway/Tube & Bus (whole journey will take roughly 45/60 min): take the tube from stop "Aeroporto" to "Santa Apolónia" (you need to change from Red Line to Blue Line at stop "São Sebastião"), and from there you can walk about 12 min (1 km) until reaching the flat – bear in mind that you’ll be walking upwards from river level climbing part of a hill, therefore not ideal if you’re carrying luggage (but definitely doable).
If you're traveling by car and you need a parking space, you can try parking in the streets close to the flat (it’s paid street parking), but if these are quite busy and you can’t find a parking spot, the best option is to park at the following parking lot:
•"Parque de Estacionamento Emel – Damasceno Monteiro" (Street: Rua Damasceno Monteiro, 2): about 4 min walking to the flat (3€ / 4 hours).
•Just in front of that parking lot, you’ve got another one which costs 20€ / 24h.
