Lovely stay!

We informed Prossy that we'd be checking in between 12-2 the day after our reservation. But, when we arrived, Prossy was not there, nor was she at all responsive to our messages. To go find her, we had to leave our car outside in an awkward place since there was no clear area for parking. The building had a sign outside but no indication for where in the building the actual rooms were (it seemed more like an improvised hotel on top of a supermarket). We needed to ask around to even find where the room was supposed to be, and we finally found someone on the third floor. When we spoke to him, he kind of shrugged and said that Prossy had left for Kampala. He then told us to call Prossy, but since we don't have a local phone number, that would have cost us a lot of money. He eventually agreed to call her, but to do so he needed to go outside and add money to his phone account. After about 10 minutes, he was able to reach Prossy who seemed upset that there wasn't a spare key to let us in. He then hung up and said that there was nothing he could do. So we left! Prossy was very nice over text messages later, and when we asked her to cancel our reservation (so that Airbnb didn't charge us a penalty), she agreed. A day later we were reimbursed most of the money – but not all of it – which was odd because a cancellation from the host should give us a full refund. We called Airbnb and they explained that Prossy had only refunded us the money but not actually cancelled the reservation, because she didn't want to pay a penalty on her end. Airbnb refunded us the remainder of the money, and after all this, we felt lucky to have avoided Prossy and her room.

Spacious place in a busy town
