I’ll explain the story on my side and let readers be the judge. Originally booked the house not realising it’s managed by an agent that is dealing with many properties in the Newcastle area. Booked this 3 bedroom house for 7 days and a week later was told the house is double booked and would it be ok to move to another house. As we where there to work at the supercar event I needed to be at least the same distance from the track. After being assured the house was actually closer and bigger I accepted the swap. Arrival day and I receive a phone call from the agent stating that due to flooding the house is not available. The alternative was a small 2 bedroom”apartment in the city. I stated there are “3 of us that’s why I booked a 3 bedroom house” response was take it or leave it. “That’s all we have “ Remember this is on the arrival date and during the Supercar race week in Newcastle. With no alternative I requested a 3rd bed in the living area. The next day they supplied a floating mattress in the living room. I gave my 2 staff members the 2 private rooms and tried to sleep in this inflatable mattress in the living room for a whole week. Which was impossible. To me it seems like a case of getting more money for the houses during the Supercars event and then coming up with a plan C at the end which made our stay a complete mess. Finally keys have to be picked up and dropped off to the agent on the other side of town which is another 30 min back and forth. Really a poor all round and probably the worst Airbnb experience I have ever had. Actually nothing else even comes close to the handling of the situation.
