Or walk the other way to Kite Beach, it's just 10 minutes! The location is arguably Caberete's best. A good cafe, (where English is happily spoken) is located less than 100 yards from the house. A small food truck park, with excellent hamburgers, is a 5 minute walk. The international airport at Puerto Plata (POP) is 20 minutes away, about $40 US in a taxi. Caberete has excellent restaurants and great shopping. A great variety of quality fresh fruits and vegetables are available year around, both at the local stands and supermarkets. Think baby arugula, fresh basil, cilantro, and passion fruit. A excellent selection of wine and spirits is available in town at Janets supermarket.
