Our little slice of heaven is situated on the magnificent Cabot Trail, providing guests with the ultimate in privacy and seclusion. Take in the beauty of your very own private waterfall and enjoy the fresh air and breathtaking views. Whether you choose to relax on your private deck, play some board games, read a book, enjoy a hike on our very own trail, or roast marshmallows under the stars our little eco-friendly bunkie has everything you need for a memorable stay. The Whispering Waterfall bunkie is our coziest accommodation, currently considered off-grid using solar panels for lighting (no electricity for appliances etc.) and a wood stove for heat. A fire pit to cook or heat water and BBQ to grill on. Sleeps 2 adults comfortably (one double bed). Although it is smaller in size, your stay here is all about the experience. The bunkie is just steps away from your own private waterfall and babbling brook. Picture waking up in the morning to a fresh air breeze through the window and the sound of water flowing from the natural rock formations outside your room. Although there is no attached restroom with this bunkie, there is a clean functioning outhouse for your use. PLEASE READ** Our Cabins are currently considered OFF-GRID. This means: Our cabin has solar electricity for lighting only. NO POWER for fridge, stove, or other - just solar for lights. Additionally, our water supply comes directly from the mountain. Although the property does not offer Wi-Fi or cell phone service, we do provide a serene and disconnected environment for you to fully immerse yourself in nature. If you do need to connect, we have good news - just a short seven-minute drive will take you to a beautiful beach where you can enjoy stunning views while also accessing reliable reception. Our cabin is fully equipped to provide you with all the basic necessities for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. In addition to the essentials such as bedding, towels, and cooking utensils, we also provide a hiking safety pouch and a first-aid kit, ensuring that you have peace of mind while exploring the surrounding nature. For some indoor fun, we offer a selection of games and playing cards to help you unwind and bond with loved ones. If you're looking for some outdoor activities we are pleased to offer a range of exciting outdoor games like corn hole, badminton racquets, croquet, kites, soccer balls and more. We have a spare tent and cot as well if need be. Available upon request at the time of booking. We believe that every guest is unique, and we are committed to making your stay with us as memorable and personalized as possible. It has one bedroom (queen bed), one upper loft (queen bed), and a pull-out couch in the sitting area. The cabin has a two-piece bath, kitchenette, living/dining space, and a large woodstove (wood provided). AVAILABLE NOW. Kickback Cabin: Currently considered off-grid using solar panels for lighting. Murray Mountain run-off water for flushing water indoor toilet. One bedroom - Sleeps 2 comfortably (one KING bed), one living/dining space area and one washroom. AVAILABLE NOW COMING SOON: Trailer Park Glamper: Our large, updated camper sleeps 8. It has one queen bed, a set of double bunkbeds, and one double pull-out couch. Couldn’t have chosen a better place to experience Autumn in Cape Breton! It was a perfect place for me and my dogs to rest after a day of hiking. The private little waterfall right next to the cabin was amazing. The wood stove kept us toasty all night. Amanda was very kind and quick to respond, she left us everything that we needed - including some treats and toys for the pups. Would return here in a heartbeat! :)
I honestly cannot say enough good things. This cabin getaway was everything and more. The listing doesn’t do it justice! Amanda is simply an amazing host. She’s thought of everything you could possibly need! Including towels to take a dip in the waterfall! As my first time on the east coast I got to enjoy the colours of the leaves on the Cabot trail, we made Digby scallops on the cast iron on the fire and enjoy a nice getaway from the city with my partner. I honestly can’t think of a single thing I’d change, this cabin has it all and more! I can’t wait to come back!
This cozy cabin in the woods is extremely private and sooooo comfortable. The attention to details was very impressive. My wife and I enjoyed supper over the open fire and a drink by the waterfall are only issue was deciding which spot we wanted to be in the most. The fire pit was on one side of the cabin and the waterfall was on the other. Maybe they could be incorporated together When we return to Cape Breton in the future we definitely be staying at the waterfall cabin ( if it’s available) and highly recommend you do 2 ……… Ross and Joanne

Looking for things to do? Our property is surrounded by crown land, so it is very private. It has its own beautiful waterfall and hiking trail for you to enjoy.

- Red Island Hiking trail (approx. 4km).
- North River Falls (approx. 5 km)
- Tarbotvale Bridge (swimming area)
- Little River Beach is about 10 min drive (a beautiful spot with a sandy beach).
- There is also a beach across from Simply Pizza.
- We are also steps away from the Cabot Trail Highlands Skidoo and Quad Trail access (Oregon Trail).
For your convenience we have a very large parking area at the base of the property (20+ vehicles). Perfect for uploading trailers for a day of adventure.
