The place is nice but has its drawbacks: It is far from the Amboseli gates and will take you 1 hour driving. So you probably won’t make it to be there super early. The apartment is ok, but nothing fancy. There are big gaps between door and floor and also holes in the window. So insects easily get inside. As there is no mosquito net, you might get visited by mosquitos! Bring your own net or better, let Thomas install one. Thomas is a helpful guy. He provides you a taxi and safari tours. Unfortunately, he also charges a lot for the food. We felt tricked and needed to negotiate with him. That’s one thing, I absolutely don’t like to do! Especially after asking two times the cook how much a meal costs, without getting a better answer as ”you are vegetarians, so we try to keep the costs low”. In the end, we should have paid 130 USD for 3x breakfast and dinner for two persons. This would have been the most expensive meal during our holiday. So please ask beforehand about any extra costs.

Es war super schön in der Unterkunft! Wir haben beide Nächte sehr genossen. Thomas hat immer schnell auf meine Nachrichten reagiert und war vorher, während des Aufenthalts und auch danach sehr hilfreich! Sala hat sehr lecker für uns gekocht und Samu war immer bereit wenn wir Hilfe gebraucht haben. Der Blick auf den kilimanjaro ist einfach der Hammer. Das einzige worüber man nachdenken sollte ist ein eigenes Moskitonetz mitzubringen, weil wirklich sehr viele Insekten ins Zimmer kommen können.

We visited Amboseli which is an unmissable place in Kenya. We stayed at Thomas' house, right in front of Kilimanjaro. Thomas was a fantastic host and has a super friendly team ready to do everything to make sure nothing is missing. In addition, Thomas arranged our transportation from Nairobi to Ambosseli (train and taxi), scheduled a safari in the National Park and a 4-hour walking tour in Kilimanjaro. All these activities went very well, with fantastic guides, punctual and very friendly. We also had a cook always available to make our meals. It was super! Just book the house and then ask Thomas for what you need.... Thank you Thomas, to you and your entire team.

Great place to relax, Thomas is always responsive, He had gone out of his way and arranged transportations for us not just till the place but further too. Cabin is spacious for couple. Co-host samuel stays on property and just 1 min away. View of Mt. Kilimanjaro is breathtaking.

Nachdem wir nur eine Nacht bleiben wollten haben wir uns entschieden noch eine Nacht anzuhängen. Der Blick auf den Kilimandscharo ist einfach überwältigend. Thomas war sehr einfach zu erreichen und hat eine tolle Wegbeschreibung gegeben. Die Unterkunft war wie beschrieben. Für uns wurde sogar jeden Abend ein Feuer angezündet. Für einen Besuch im Amboseli Nationalpark liegt die Unterkunft sehr gut. Uns hat der Aufenthalt sehr gefallen und wir können die Unterkunft sehr empfehlen. Auf Wunsch wird man sogar vom Nachbarn bekocht.
