Famalicão da Nazaré · 整套别墅 · 3室4床3.0卫 · 可住6人 · Maria Vista Nazaré - Ocean view, private pool
Home with a view. And what a view! "Wow" was our only word when we entered the house for the first time, & every time since. The blue of the ocean & sky jump inside through the windows. It was love at first sight! The house was designed to feature the view & to be comfortable, whether you are indoors or outside. With a private pool & ample outdoor patio space, a quiet beach down the hill, & the towns of Nazare & Sao Martinho do Porto each 7 km away, a fabulous holiday is right here! Our home is located on a ridge in Serra da Pescaria Nazare, with amazing views of the ocean, restored windmills, the town and beach of Nazare, and the Farol da Nazare and Praia do Norte, where surfers take on the big waves during the big wave season from October through March. Serra da Pescaria is one of the most stunning places around Nazare and on the Silver Coast. It is close to two towns, Nazare to the north and Sao Martinho do Porto to the south, each about 7 kilometers or 10 minutes by car, and far enough to feel like you are away from the hustle and bustle, in a quiet area with lots of greenery. The surrounding area offers a variety of stunning hiking and biking trails or simply the ridge road for a ride or walk. Down the hill is Salgado Beach, a long, wide, quiet beach, to be enjoyed. The moment you open the door you will feel what we felt the first time we entered the house. The house was built to prominently feature the view of nature, the ocean, the sky and Nazare. The entry hall has a double ceiling and the back wall of the first floor has sliding glass doors that flood the house with an unexpected light, a light that makes you feel like you are in a different world. You won't want to leave that world! This is what we feel every single time we enter our home, and we are happy to share that experience with you. Bring your family or friends and enjoy our home. Off the entry hall, on the right, you have a bedroom with two single beds or, if you prefer, we can set them up as one large bed (just let us know how you want us to set the bedroom, 2 singles or 1 large bed). The bedroom has a closet and a dresser, along with two bedside tables with storage space for your belongings. Also, on the right, you have the staircase to the upstairs (more on that below). Off the entry hall, on the left, you have a full bathroom with a large shower and a bidet. The main living and dining areas are an open floor plan. As you walk from the entry hall towards the light and the ocean, you come to the dining area. The dining area has a big oval table that can comfortably seat 6. Almost everyone at the table can enjoy the stunning view which may lead to lingering at meals. The living area, to the left of the dining table, is cozy and comfortable where you can sit and chat, read, or watch cable or your favorite movies or series on our 4K tv (you can access your favorite movie/series accounts - Amazon Prime, Netflix, HBO...if you log in with your credentials). You also can relax or read a book in the chair and ottoman next to the window, with the calm and wonderful view of Nazare. The wood burning stove provides a lovely ambiance and warmth, if needed. If there is a chill in the air, there are ceramic space heaters in each of the bedrooms and for the dining/living area. On the other side of the dining area, is the entrance to the kitchen, with pocket doors that can be closed. Our kitchen has everything you need to make a family meal, a cake, or just a midday snack. Speaking of meals, in a town like Nazare, don't miss a visit to the local mercado (market), where you can buy some fresh fish and then grill it on our outside BBQ. Or, if you prefer, you can also do some portuguese bifanas in the BBQ, with a salad featuring fresh vegetables from the market. Oh, so good! Enjoy these meals in the dining room or on the outside patio in front of the kitchen. The patio has a big table and chairs so that you can enjoy your meals, or just a glass of wine at the sunset. The sunsets from this spot are spectacular! If you need to tear yourself away from the sky and the sea to do a bit of work, we have the perfect place. Next to the living room, we have an office set up, with a door, relaxing decor, a working desk and a comfortable chair. The office faces the the front of the house, away from the sea, so you can work with no stress or disturbance from those with whom you are sharing the house. Upstairs, you will find two en-suite bedrooms, with equally spectacular views. Each of the upstairs bedrooms features a bed facing a sliding glass door, so that you can wake up to the stunning view of the landscape and the ocean. Both upstairs bedrooms offer a full bath, one with a big shower and one with a shower and tub. There are closets and dressers in each bedroom for your belongings. The sliding glass doors in the bedrooms open to a balcony, where the sunset and sunrise views over the ocean captivate your attention and you can keep your eye on the size of the waves in Nazare. Back on the ground floor, there are three sliding glass doors in front of the living and dining areas that you can open to let the sea air in, listen to the sounds of the waves crashing on Salgado Beach below, and access the pool and patio areas and the garage and laundry room. The pool area has loungers and other chairs to relax in, read, or sip a drink. Enjoy the freshness of the pool (which is not heated). And if it's too hot or sunny, open one of the umbrellas on the patios. The garage is our last stop in our house tour. In the garage, you will find the separate laundry room in the back, on the right, where you can wash your clothes. The washer also functions as a dryer, but we always recommend drying on your clothes like a local, outside in the sun, which is faster and more energy efficient. In the laundry room, you will find a large drying rack that can be put outside, along with clothespins. It also has an iron and ironing board if you need it. Parking: We ask all our guests to park on the street by the house, where there is always parking available and is easier than parking in the driveway on the hill by the house. PLEASE NEVER park on the street side of our driveway gate. Parking there prevents our neighbor from getting in and out his driveway. We are very considerate of our neighbors and we don't want to interfere with their enjoyment of their property. We live in a small community, where we respect and support each other.
Lovely and tastefully decorated home with all that we needed - with the most spectacular views of the Atlantic and Nazaré! Great tips for local restaurants to enjoy the fantastic seafood that is abundant in the area! We enjoyed great weather by the pool, watched amazing sunsets on the terrace and at a nearby beach, but can imagine coming during the season of the big waves - where it would be cozy and inviting with amazing views of the ocean and the ever-changing skies …
Lovely clean home, tastefully furnished, beautiful sunsets & views. Good location within easy drive to towns & beaches. Be prepared for the Atlantic wind!
Quiet neighborhood, high on a ridge, surrounded by a few other houses like ours. The neighborhood sits above Salgado Beach, which can be reached walking or driving. At the beach, there is a beachside cafe, open during the summer season. Within walking distance of the house, on the ridge road to the south, there is a small, traditional Portuguese restaurant, Tasca do Janeca, which offers good food at very reasonable prices and a warm, welcoming staff. It can be quite popular, so if you want to have lunch or dinner there, go early or book in advance. A little further down the ridge road, south of Tasca do Janeca, there is a small coffee shop where you can grab coffee, and a pastry or a snack and sit outside with a spectacular view. To the north up the ridge road, in walking distance, there is Chocolate Bless, a local chocolate producer, who is delightful and you can visit whenever the gates are open.
From our home you can also find hiking and biking trails of the Silver Coast, explore dinosaur footprints found in the area, or visit one of Portugal's oldest churches.
We are about 7 km (or 10 minutes by car) from the towns of Nazare to the north and Sao Martinho do Porto to the the south.
In Nazare, you will find a wide variety of restaurants, supermarkets, coffee shops, bars, and souvenir and handicraft shops both along the main beach road and further off it. The beach is wide and welcoming. There is a cultural center which generally offers exhibits and also features an outdoor exhibit of traditional fishing boats and dried fish. There are often festivals in Nazare, where you can see women in traditional dress, folk dancing, and traditional games. In Sitio, the area upon a cliff above the main Nazare town, you can visit the Farol da Nazare, which offers a surf museum, and see the areas where the big waves are surfed. Sitio also offers a number of good restaurants, food trucks, coffee shops and souvenir and handicraft shops. Sitio can be accessed by a funicular from the main town and which was designed by an associate of Eiffel or by foot. We recommend taking the funicular up and walking down, with a stop at the giant swing over Nazare.
Sao Martinho do Porto is a small, charming beach town that offers an almost perfect clamshell bay and calm beach where you can swim, paddleboard, and otherwise enjoy the beach and water. There is a long boardwalk along the water, dunes that can be scaled, and a church accessible only by foot at the end of one of the headlands protecting the bay. It also offers a variety of restaurants, bars and shops. We particularly enjoy going for a gelato or a drink and watching the sunset along the main beach road.
Or, if you are as taken with the view from the house as we are, you can just enjoy the house and check the Nazare waves from a distance. Yes, you really can see them from our home!
The best way to come to our home is by car. You can also take a taxi or an Uber, but your access to the commercial areas and towns will be limited since our home is just outside two towns and public transportation is not readily available in the immediate area.
