This is a difficult review to write and I've tried to provide the facts objectively so you can make your own decision. I've visited Greece numerous times over the last 25 years and have family living in Athens so Greece is very close to my heart. I love the people and their hospitality (xenia) is second to none. The location is a working agricultural / fishing area not on the tourist side of town. I'm very used to seeing all the stray dogs in Greece but not ones that are chained. One concern was that there was a dog in a nearby field, that you drive past to the house, which seemed to be a guard dog for livestock. The dog was housed in a metal (tiny) pen and we think was chained. We couldn't be sure, but I found it a distressing site. I also discovered on the last day that the owners had 5 dogs in a pen right at the end of their olive grove, all chained on very very short leashes which was exceptionally distressing. In addition, one of their own dogs that was loose was in such an abysmal state I asked the owner if I could take it to the vets. She agreed and we went together. The dog was scratching itself raw because of fleas and was filthy. The vet provided medicine and the next day the owner had washed her and she was looking much better. This is definitely a cultural issue and if it had just been the one dog with problems, it was happily resolved and I wouldn't be writing about it. However, I can't get over the chaining of the other 5 dogs. I complained to the owner's son who has reassured me that he has spoken to his parents and the dogs are now free. If this is the case, it's a lessons learned (as he himself said) and there's no reason not to book this accommodation. The house was very clean and looks like the pictures except that you take some steep metal stairs down to the beach. The beach is lovely and the water very calm. There are plenty of sun loungers all over the garden and table and chairs at the end of the garden overlooking the beach. Preveza is 10 mins way in a car. You do drive everywhere because it is quite remote. We had 3 families, 12 people and there was plenty of space for all, good air conditioning and good beds. The bbq was great and the owner assisted with making it. The wife made moussaka, chicken pie and a beautiful cake for us during the stay which was lovely. They certainly wanted to ensure we had a good stay. If you are venturing out go to Glyki, Parga and Arilla beach up north, Lefkada and Nidri town and waterfalls in the south. The listing says there's plenty of info about the area but there wasn't anything in the house and I asked 3 times for suggestions for kayak rental and received no response. This wasn't such a big issue as the internet tells you everything but it would be helpful for such information to be in the house. Rent some paddle boards from Aqua Subs out of Lefkada for the duration, the location is perfect for them. The accommodation is certainly very good value for money and had it not been for the one highlighted issue, there's nothing we could fault about it.

Amazing house with nice garden, roofed bbq area and small private beach. Equiped with everything you need. Everything is clean and as described. Beds are comfortable. Supermarket and really nice fish taverna reachable in about 10 minutes by foot. Dimitrios and his parents really are amazing hosts. They were very helpful in every way and even prepared food for us. Very hopitable without ever being intrusive. I can absolutely recommend this place as for me that was the best airbnb experience I have had so far to be honest.

Dimitrios is a great host! His villa is super nice with a cool style. If you're coming with kids then the huge garden is a big advantage. A car is a must have in order to get access to the beaches(at least a few trips to Lefkada are a must do). Highly recommended stay in the Preveza region!
