We stayed at Dennie's place while we were visiting family in the area. The house was spotless and beautiful! We enjoyed much wildlife during our stay and spent time out in the gorgeous yard around the house. Dennie's place was thoughtfully prepared for our stay with little ones and she had baby gates, extra mattresses, a baby monitor and so much more for us when we got there! Really we couldn't have asked for more during our stay. Our toddler locked us out of the house and Dennie was VERY quick to respond with an easy solution. We will definitely look to stay here again in the future! Thank you to Dennie for making this trip so memorable and fun!
Beautiful location and beautiful house. Hostess had place well stocked to meet all your needs especially the kitchen. We had our family there to visit and was a great place to relax and unwind. As the Hostess described it as Grandma’s house without Grandma. My wife and I would get up early and drive a couple of miles down the road and watch the herd of elk and deer jump the fences. Saw wild turkey as well. Besides the wildlife the snow capped mountains in the distance were wonderful to look at. Overall a beautiful getaway that has a stream flowing beside the house creating a soothing sound that generates an atmosphere of relaxation. Hostess was very attentive to any communications we had.
One of the more beautiful Airbnbs we have stayed at in this area! The place had beautiful views! The house was as exactly what the photos showed. Everything was very clean. Would definitely recommend to friends!
Great cabin away from it all. We appreciated that it was dog friendly. Had all of the kitchen items we needed. Thanks again.
This historic home is located at Twin Creek Ranch, a working family cattle operation. It is adjacent to hundreds of acres of public lands and the ranch is easy to get to. Your drive from Interstate 70 is just 12 minutes away but you will feel you must be hours away. The Amtrack train station stop is 30 minutes away in Glenwood Springs. The Rifle Airport (private airport) is less than 30 minutes away.
The nights are very dark and the stars are bright and shining (no light pollution here). It's very quite and the landscape is rugged. The owner's daughter lives just up the road in the log ranch house and is available to assist with any concerns or needs. You can cross country ski wherever you like on the ranch, raft the Colorado river, bring your bikes for day bike trips in the countryside or enjoy hiking or off-roading . We invite hunters and outdoor folks to make this an amazing base camp for their adventures. We can make arrangements for you to park a snow mobile, boat or horse trailer during your stay.
If rest and relaxation are top of your list, lay low and enjoy the peaceful setting and amazing views and scenery. Are you up for adventure? You will have a hard time choosing your day trips whether they are north, south, east or west. Avoid the crowds and take a day trip drive south for a beautiful scenic drive the "back way" up the Grand Mesa. You can view the Aspen colors in the fall or head up high to cool off in the summer. Ski Sunlight is 45 minutes away for you skiers and snowboarders. Aspen and Vail are each about an hour away. Palisade, Colorado and it's wine country is about 1.5 hours away west towards Grand Junction. So many wonderful sights to see. You will want to return again and again to sample all that the area has to offer. We love our country home will welcome you back to Twin Creek Ranch anytime of the year.
You will need your own vehicle to enjoy the area and explore. Four wheel drive is recommended during the winter months. Parking is just in front of the property and you walk down a one level sidewalk onto the porch. There are no steps to enter the first floor from the front of the house. There is no covered parking during the summer months. Fall and winter you will have a covered space available. There is no public transportation although Uber service is expanding in the area.
