What an amazing home and host! Luke is friendly, helpful, and a great communicator. The interior of the home is thoughtfully designed and curated. Original artwork hangs throughout and the furnishings are designer quality. The exterior space has so many areas of interest that there’s something for everyone. Our group used the hot tub and gas fire pit daily. Our group of 6 adults had plenty of space to spread out or all gather in the common area. There are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for optimal comfort. We had daily visits from large groups of deer and turkey…in fact, the turkey roosted a pine tree in the yard. Luke’s house was the perfect location to function as home base from which we launched to National Parks, National Monuments, Wall’s, Minute Man Missile site, Hot Springs, Custer State Park…all the things! If you have time, go tour the museum at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology. It was a surprising treat. Stay at Luke’s and go do the things!

This is our second time at this beautifully designed and decorated home. It’s literally perfect. It has everything you could ask for and in the mornings you get to watch families of deer come into the yard and eat off the apple and pear trees that are on the property. This place is really magical. And the host is amazing and super friendly and you can tell he really cares for his property and his guests.

This property is truly a gem. What a beautiful stay. We woke up to deer and wild turkeys every morning. Such a gorgeous house and property! The beautiful living room/kitchen hub area is perfect for lots of family activities, drinking morning coffee and relaxing together. The bedrooms are plentiful, spacious and clean. Everyone got there own bathroom since there are several! It was a lovely oasis to return to every evening after exploring all the local monuments, gorgeous drives and shops. The host is so helpful and friendly and made sure we always had everything we needed for a perfect stay. We will definitely be back!

If you value and appreciate the concept of beauty, The Kyoto House is not only a great place to stay, but it will inspire you. We had every luxury we could think of at our fingertips --karaoke in the basement, food delivery options, trampoline, swings, rain showers, chocolate, firewood, wine, a hot water tap, giant connected TVs, cozy nooks, windows galore, hot tub, comfiest beds and couches ever -- but the real treat was Luke's unmatched hospitality. With all of our expectations met and exceeded, we found ourselves really leaning into just having fun and being happy. With nothing to worry about and not a care in the world, turns out you can just focus on joy! Who knew? Luke -- Luke knows. He's a hospitality expert, through and through. And, while it's clear you're staying in someone's dearly loved space, he created a vibe of generosity that made his home feel like our own (but, with like, way better sunrise views...and a hot tub).

Our stay at the Kyoto House over Labor Day weekend was an absolute delight! This property is not just a house; it's a home that invites warmth and relaxation. As parents, we were thrilled with the array of games and toys that kept our kids engaged throughout our stay. The backyard is an expansive haven—perfect for family activities and quiet moments alike. The lush greenery and sightings of local wildlife added an extra layer of magic to our experience. Every amenity was thoughtfully provided for, making our stay comfortable and stress-free. The attention to detail is unparalleled, and the hosts were both accommodating and kind.We can wholeheartedly say we will be returning to Kyoto House. It has set a new standard for our family getaways!
