The Quiet Place Himalayas is a boutique home stay, situated in a little Himalayan Orchard on a ridge with breathtaking panoramic views. On clear days, you might just catch the magical sight of the first rays of sun hitting the far away snow clad peaks. You could spend time here admiring the beautiful colours of the butterflies, moths, other bugs and birds, taking walks along the numerous little forest trails, reading in our book lounge or simply doing nothing. Oh, and we have a fast WIfI too! The main house consists of 2 bedrooms and a well furnished living room. Our attentive staff offers delicious buffet including local Kumaoni delicacies for meals at fixed times. Snacks are served in the evening. Please note that the kitchenette in the 2 bedroom apartment has all the basic pots and pans, cooking gas cylinder and stove, along with basic ingredients like salt and pepper. If you wish to cook full meals, you'll have to bring your own food ingredients and it would incur an extra charge of Rs 500 per day.

Truly a home away from, this place is much more beautiful than it looks in the pictures.. very calm and blissful. Perfect place for Weekend getaway as well as for working during the weekdays. The host(Ankush) and the staff and all others are very welcoming, helpful and always available to cater to your needs. The hospitality is commendable. The Quite place is actually very quite and calm…. and hope to visit the place again soon..😀
It’s the perfect kind of mountain homestay for someone like me who likes quiet, offbeat locations (the property is more than just a 200 m walk from the main road, which I loved but some people might need a fair warning, however the staff’s super helpful so getting in and out with luggage is not a problem). Overall, this place has a rustic charm about things. The rooms (and bathrooms!) are cozy and quaint, surrounded by greenery all around. It’s an ideal writer’s retreat, the way the hosts intended for it to be, but also equally lovely for families or solo travellers who love spending uninterrupted time in nature. Not giving brownie points only because of a few things that I feel could be mentioned upfront in the description (amenities mention kitchen but not that usage comes at an additional cost of 500/day, they don’t charge for basic/instant cooking though). Either way, I can’t wait to visit again and meet Po and Fia and Bobby and other furry friends I made during my stay.

superb stay with great food. Ankush the manager looked after really well and accommodated our requests. infact arranged candle light dinner under open sky. really thankful.
A quiet and cozy stay in an orchard amidst mountains away from hustle bustle of city. The place was better than photographs on Airbnb. It's surrounded by Apricot and plum trees. One can have as many as they want. The house was clean and well maintained. It has a rustic wooden decor with modern amenities. There is a big glass window which allows one to enjoy sunrise from comfort of bed. The island is a very good sit out offering 3 side mountain views. We sat out at night enjoying the stars and tranquility of mountains. Food was delicious. Hospitality is superb. Staff is courteous and helping.

Most guests come here with a "Not to do" list rather than a "to-do" list. The village of Satkhol is not on the tourist map and doesnt offer typical touristy activities. From our place you can go for long walks, read, paint or generally relax. You can sack out (or work) in the open areas or be industrious at the desk in your room with the massive windows. Enjoy nature. Most attractions are a drive: Mukteshwar (12 km drive / 5 km hike), Bhimtal & Dhokaney waterfall (90 min drive), Nainital (2 hrs) and so on.
You can walk to the well-stocked Kapil store, and for nearby hikes. To go anywhere further you need a cab. Our team will help you with that. We are off the road – the last 150 metres is a walk (our staff will help carry your bags up & down). Parking is on the main road. There is no private parking. There are great hikes in the area, and the forest reserve 2 km away offers some nice wilderness trails. The local area is great for walks or simply to hang out and relax. The views from the Quiet Place often astonish. The nearest town is Mukteshwar where there is a Shiva temple and rappeling/zip-lining (seasonal). Almora is an hour's drive. Bhim taal is 90 minutes away, between the Quiet Place and Haldwani. Nainital is a two hour drive. There is little by way of local transport but cabs are available on hire if required.

The quiet place is a home stay – an extension of our own home. We welcome like-minded people seeking to get away from the madding crowd.
