Park you car and have a holiday on foot if you wish. Walking distance to the quaint and quirky boutique shops and eateries in the main street, you will have everything you need. Our space has been styled and designed with practicality in mind. The décor is inspired by historic images of Port Fairy. Dated back to the 1920s, indulge yourself in the by-gone era. Pop the children to sleep and close of the living space for some quality time overlooking the Moyne River. Outdoors is ideal for relaxing with ample space and areas for family members to spread out. Bikes and boards can be stored down the side access path where the outdoor shower is located to warm up after the surf. Bring the SUP or kayak and launch straight off the jetty and crusie down the Moyne to the river mouth and around the bay. For those of you who love to relax outdoors, you have an array of options. Embrace the sunset at the front and immerse in a subconscious mind of people watching as you gaze down Bank street. Enjoy a BBQ or charcuterie board with your family in the outdoor dining/decking area. You could venture down to the jetty and unwind and absorb the river at its finest view point whilst casting out a line, in hope of a fresh catch. Boats are welcome, there is space in the driveway for a trailer as the boat can be moored to the jetty. (Boats under 6m recommended and without a high cabin. As the tide moves in and out, the height dieffers to get under the bridge.) The fire pit is the icing on the cake. With your thoughts at ease, listen to the flames cackle against the red gum while reminiscing about the days explorations. Inside, the open-plan living is warmly filled with natural light. A beautiful warmth in winter. In summer the orientation of the home has the sun setting at the west, not to overheat the living space. The lounge suite is generous enough to fit you all while you stream a Netflix favorite. The U-shape kitchen is practical for short stays. Pantry basics, essentials and cook ware are there for your convenience. The kitchen bench is perfect to prepare or share with your friends and family perched on the bar stools opposite. The queen room is snuggly and quiet. It has the second television, ideal to pop the kids into watch or put on your favourite flick before a good nigths sleep. The bunk room is a spacious space for 3, each bed with its own reading lamp. Full robes are in each room so you can entirely unpack to enjoy a clutter free space. For your convenience, the accessories within River House have been thoughtfully curated to ensure you have what you need for a beach side stay. Beach Towels, Picnic Mat, Insulated Picnic Bag and Beach Shades to name a few. The fresh morning Sun is simply delightful, as is equally the calmness of the evening on the deack and jetty. You can hear the waves across the dunes while nestling up to the fire pit with serene views of the riverfront. We are your perfect stay away from home while you visit our historic Port Fairy town. Everything is Port Fairy is accessible. Parking in peak in the CBD can prove challenging, which makes River House so appealing. A 6 minute stroll lands you on East Beach and about 20 minutes to Pea Soup. Other things to note: While we have listed 5 guests, we do not recommend requesting additional guests. 4 adults recommended at maximum for comfort. The top single bunk has a recommended age minimum of 5 years old and weight limitation of 60kg, we would appreciate that to be adhered to for safety reasons. We advise there is a risk for toddlers to children of age to swim independently to stay at River House. There are no baby or safety gates, fences or deterrents from the back door or side gate of the property to the open water of Moyne river. Please note, linen will only be supplied for the amount of guests booked for. We will confirm with you the bedding configuration prior to arrival. River House shares an adjoining wall and the jetty with another rental property. A footpath and a retaining wall separates the properties spaces. We ask guests to strip the beds prior to checkout and have all crockery and cuttlery clean and away.
