Good: The place. Bad: The host. I chose Jamal's place for the fireplace. I wanted to have a fire in the woods. I received a message on my 9 hour ride saying I can't use the fireplace. I wouldn't have booked in the first place knowing this. Upon arrival, I saw the message and responded at 7:43 pm that I was disappointed I could not use the fireplace. It wasn't until 3:36 pm the next day that they said you can use the fireplace. The host tried charging us $150 for "a fire at night" (which wasn't the case) and then when I agreed to replace the bin that melted a little bit, the host said they would share a bill from the garbage company for $100. They never did and included a much larger Amazon bill once they found out we would not be paying the bogus $150 fee. I left at 4 am and disposed of all garbage in their bin as directed. The host then said we should have messaged them for more details. It took them almost a day the prior time messaging, no way would they have responded at 4 am.

Jamal was very responsive and easy to communicate with. We had little to no issues to deal with and he took care of all we asked for him. Thank you Jamal

The house is beautiful, well stocked and very clean. We loved the huge cathedral windows. The weather, unexpectedly changed to a winter wonderland while we were there. It was so nice to be warm and cozy and watch the snow fall.

Pros: We enjoyed our stay so made it work; quiet; responsive host; pet friendly; comfortable beds Cons: Pictures are misleading. Not a breathtaking view. Trees everywhere. The pics show organized, well lit and clean living area. In reality, it was junky and disorganized. No closet space in master or second bedroom, little drawer space, kitchen not well stocked and no lighting so we could not work on games or puzzles at night. We are very experienced Airbnb renters. I felt like we were staying in your home that you rented out. For a full six nights rent, I expected better effort to make it nicer for renters to feel like it was made for guests. Look, we made it work and enjoyed our stay but hopefully it will be better prepped for long term renters at the price charged. Thank you. Steve
