Palazzo Tintori Garden apartment is located inside a very charming noble building once called Palazzo Corsini ai Tintori which dates back to the 17th Century. It is situated in the heart of one of Florence’s most historical districts and the area takes its name from the monumental church of Santa Croce. This property is located on first floor with elevator and can comfortably sleep up to 12 guests (4 bedrooms and sofa beds in the living room). The apartment is set all on one floor and measures around 3000 square feet. This home away from home boasts a genuinely Florentine feel and character, bespoke furnishings and top-quality appliances, and an overall luxury chic essential style. Its contemporary design concept is inspired by a minimalist mood, combining clean cut lines, simplicity and a refined colour palette that enhances the wondrous architectural features this historical Florentine palazzo has to offer. The apartment has been superbly restored and decorated by designer and architect Ilaria Sassolini and her team, and the superb frescoes have been restored by one of Florence’s most talented and renowned local artisans. Great attention to detail made during the restoration to seamlessly blend original and modern materials has created an overall totally unique ambience. Modern comforts abound including air conditioning, independent heating settings in each room during the colder months, high speed WiFi, latest generation TVs and a high spec sound system. The apartment boasts a very spacious kitchen with large stainless fridge-freezer and endless work top space, a worthy setting for true culinary magic. And what better to do so than when in Tuscany?! Learn to cook like a local in your own authentic kitchen or why not sit down and relax and enjoy a private chef dinner. This space is the perfect spot to gather with friends or family for breakfast or sit down and tuck into a delicious meal after a busy day sightseeing the city of Florence. You will find our personal trove of family recipes, so you can recreate the enticing aromas of the traditional Italian cuisine, glass of wine in hand, surrounded by the people you love. The kitchen is connected to both living rooms, each one with its own unique concept and “function”. One living room is more informal and “relaxing”, furnished with large spacious sofas (that convert into sofa beds), chaise-longues and comfortable upholstered poufs. This room looks out over onto Corso Tintori. The other, more formal, boasts sofas and chairs, more suited to intimate conversations or after dinner cocktails, made easy with an elegant wet bar that makes serving drinks a delight. This room looks out onto the inner garden space in the courtyard. The apartment boasts four luxury bedrooms, each of which has a beautiful en-suite bathroom to ensure utmost privacy and commodity. Each bedroom has been exquisitely interior designed (with hand-crafted wardrobes for maximum design and functionality) and decorated with their own subtle themes and colour palette. Each one boasts a grand headboard, each crafted by our own team of local artisans using quality genuine Italian leather, and each one with its own distinct colour to match the ancient frescoes that adorn the ceilings. Beautiful marble tiles adorn each bathroom which boast a walk-in shower. Quality parquet wooden flooring abounds creating a very warm and inviting atmosphere and the choice of lighting throughout will fully complement the apartment’s magnificent, frescoed ceilings and decorative ancient walls. Last but not least enjoy a morning coffee or an evening cocktail in the inner courtyard with beautiful vertical garden, furnished with quality table and chairs. Palazzo Tintori Garden is your home away from home. A safe haven. You are not tied to a schedule or timetable. Here you can have breakfast at any time of the day, wherever you like, whenever you like. Fancy a nap, go for it. Where? Anywhere! Our home is your home, a haven for you to forget it all, an informal escape where you can be lord or lady of your very own town house. Your escape from the bustling city of Florence.
We couldn't have had a better time during our stay at this wonderful Airbnb in Florence, Italy. Everything was perfect! The owners thought of everything we could ever need while away, and we wanted for nothing, which made our trip to Florence so comfortable and enjoyable. The true gem of our stay was Erika, the property manager. She could not have done enough for us during our visit. From the moment we arrived, she provided a swift yet informative tour of the property, showing us how to work the appliances and ensuring we felt at home. When we faced a potential medical emergency, Erika was incredibly helpful, providing phone numbers and addresses for nearby medical facilities and offering to arrange transportation. Her prompt responses to our questions throughout our stay were invaluable, and she even arranged taxis for our departure, which was incredibly helpful! A huge thank you to the owners and Erika for a fabulous stay in Florence!
The apartment was perfect for our group of 8 (6 adults and 2 kids). It was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly located. We immediately felt at home and welcome at this gorgeous property. Erika (property manager) was terrific, very helpful, and incredibly responsive. A+ property - can’t wait to come back!
Cannot say enough about how incredible Donatella's apartment was. The apartment itself is gorgeous, with all needed amenities. The location is outstanding, just a few minutes walk from everything. Anna and Erika were amazing to deal with. Overall, a fantastic experience!
We had the most amazing experience in this beautiful apartment. Highly recommended and the cooking class was a wonderful time. Everything was well stocked. We were a large group of 9 adults and 6 children. We all fit very comfortably. Will come back again.
Donatella's apartment is just beautiful! The pictures definitely don't do it justice, the attention to detail in the design of each and every room is very impressive. We were a group of 7 people and the home was a perfect size with a fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms. It is well situated, walking distance to all the major spots to visit. Donatella provided a great list of recommendations as well that was very helpful in planning the trip. I would definitely recommend booking Donatella's apartment for your next visit to Florence!
The Santa Croce neighbourhood provides a rare glimpse of old Florence with lively markets and tiny leather and artisan workshops, including the flea market (Mercato delle Pulci) at Piazza dei Ciompi. The Mercato St. Ambrogio, the city's second main food market after the Mercato San Lorenzo, is within close walking distance too. Furthermore, the area is just a short stroll from the river Arno and the city's main cultural attractions such as the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and Ponte Vecchio, not forgetting the magnificent Santa Croce church and museum sitting just meters away.
There are an abundance of small local shops, caffes, trattorias and restaurants all within easy walking distance. The nearest supermarket is located directly beneath the apartment.
Walking: Florence's city center is very compact and best explored on foot. Most of the attractions are within walking distance of each other, and strolling through the charming streets is a pleasure. Many of the streets are pedestrian only or limited to taxis and private driver service only.
Self-Drive: We do not recommend attempting to drive a car through the city! For more information on driving and parking in Florence please ask us!
Public Transportation: Florence has an efficient bus system managed by Autolinee Toscane which connects the centre to the neighboring towns and suburbs, but we do not recommend guests using the buses to visit the city centre of Florence. You can purchase tickets at news-stands and tobacco shops or on the bus itself. Consider the Firenze Card for access to museums and unlimited bus rides.
Taxis: Please note that Uber does not exist in Florence. Unlike many other major cities in Europe, you can’t simply flag a taxi in Florence from the street. You will need to walk to a designated taxi stand or call one of the local radio taxi companies. Taxi stands can be found outside of most tourist attractions, main squares and transport hubs. For example, Piazza Della Indipendenza, Piazza Duomo, Via il Prato, Porta Romana, Stazione Campo di Marte and the Airport. If the weather is bad or you are travelling late at night, calling one of the Florence taxi services may be your best option. There are two major taxi companies in the city: Taxi 4242 and Taxi 4390. You can also use these apps: Taxi Move and App Taxi (available on both App Store / Android). For more information and sample rates click here. We recommend booking in advance especially if you require more than one vehicle.
Bicycles: Cycling around Florence can be a unique and interesting way of visiting the city. There are many bicycle rentals stores such as: Florent: Via della Mosca, 10r, Florence By Bike: Via S. Zanobi, 54/r and E - Bikes Florence: Via S. Gallo, 97R
Private Car with Driver service: Hire in Italy is a local limo company that can organise all your transport requirements both within Florence and beyond. Explore the options and take advantage of sightseeing en route during your arrival /departure transfer or enjoy a day trip around Tuscany. Advance reservations are required! Contact Hire in Italy well in advance for a quote.
