Allen's place was a lovely place to spend a few days in the Winter: peaceful, quiet, nice setting, and in a neat remote part of the Sierra Nevadas, away from the bustle and tourists of Tahoe. It's a short drive to many mountain lakes (Gold and Salmon lakes stood out for us). There are some cute shops in town and restaurants too. And we found some good sledding near the Big Bear Lake trailhead. The property is a nice "normal" home with ample space to sleep many people. The common areas are cozy and I imagine that if you were using all (or most) of the beds, the common areas might get a bit cramped. It worked great for our group though. Allen was very helpful and responsive before and during our stay, which we appreciated.

We loved this place and the location! It is in a quiet and peaceful location and surrounded by beauty. The house has multiple options for sleeping arrangements, which worked wonderfully for our group. It was clean and clutter free. It had a lot of indoor game options for kids which was great. We were not able to utilize the cabin as much as we would have liked since we were there for a very quick trip, but from what we could see it has so much to offer for longer stays. Allen, the host, was wonderful to work with. He was very helpful and responsive to any inquiries I had. The instructions he provides are understandable and helpful. Allen also provides a list of recommendations for local restaurants and points of interests in the area which are spot on for an enjoyable trip. We would recommend this location and would come again!

We had a wonderful time at Allen's home! The house was beautiful, very clean, and had everything we needed. Allen was quick to respond and helpful when we had a question. We highly recommend staying at this lovely home!!
