The house is located on Whitchurch Road an exciting up-and-coming area and over the past few years, it’s started to become a cultural hub, becoming a very popular street with new bars & restaurants. The house is truly in the perfect location to explore Cardiff and only 5 mins from the City Centre, this house is perfect for you! Starting with the houses location, the house is very accessible from the M4 but yet when staying at the property due to its unique interior design and ambiance you feel a sense of calm and relaxation and will find it hard to leave the house. The location is easy to get to, has private parking (free of charge ) a cosy garden and great eating places and bars all on the doorstep. A quick taxi ride gets you into City Centre for approx £7 taxi ride and $9 to Cardiff Bay. The coach from London Victoria stops approx 100 yards away from the rest of the property. This Airbnb is definitely about its LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. The capital of Wales simply has to be on your welsh bucket list. Like all capitals, it’s quite different to the rest of its country, and it’s the most cosmopolitan, vibrant city in Wales by a long way. This property is perfect if you are coming to stay for concerts, to watch sports events, for walking, visit parks, the list is never-ending. Highly Recommended RESTAURANTS: Holm House (especially for Sunday Roasts) the best you will ever try, mouth watering! Take a look at Trip Advisor and see what you think. Heaneys also in PONTCANNA is a must! “Pasture” in City Centre - is the perfect place if you love meat! Newly opened and highly recommend. Along with Bar 44 and Asador 44 if you fancy the best TAPAS and a fantastic atmosphere, located opposite the Principality Stadium (again 5 mins from the house). ** This Airbnb is an extremely spacious and very homely and cosy home. It boasts a lovely sized comfortable garden to enjoy come Summer or Winter…. It has four spacious double bedrooms with very comfortable beds (one being queen-size), not to mention all the original Victorian house features! The house has two bathrooms, a very large lounge area to the upstairs of the property, dining area downstairs. The house has private car parking to the rear of the property enough spaces for x2 cars and also has free street parking to the front of the house. Not only is Whitchurch Road a safe neighbourhood it is as described in my summary, but It also has somewhere to suit everyone to eat and drink and all within walking distance or a 2 min car ride from the house.! The house is within walking distance of some very HIGHLY RATED restaurants (Trip Advisor) and only a 5 min walk to Sainsbury’s or Co-op. There are far too many must-do restaurants and bars on Whitchurch Rd to mention … Black Salt, Society Standard, Got Beef, SO, The Brass Beetle, LA PENTOLA (one of my faves, With a secret gorgeous garden!) all these and much more all serve great food and drinks and have a lovely ambience. The Society Standard" is a bar and restaurant which is very popular and located next door to "Got Beef" where you must go to see the Burger Menu, they serve the best burgers in Cardiff, the menu will truly make your mouth water! The Brass Beetle not only serves the best cocktails but serves the best pizzas! You can choose your own toppings, if your looking for pizzas and cocktails this is your place! La Pentola is formally known as “The Pot” is a family run business and serves all types of delicious wholesome homemade welsh and Italian food and has a great ambience, I always go here for my full Welsh breakfasts. This is one of my favourites on Whitchurch Rd! Please don’t miss out. Perfect for a hangover breakfast too. Talking about breakfast my favourite baker and another breakfast not to be missed is “Alex Gooch” Artisan Baker, over the years Alex has won multiple awards and grown his '1 man bakery' into a complete team of dedicated bakers and delivery drivers employing around 20 staff including family members. His bread and pastries are of the highest quality being skilfully crafted in traditional ways using organic ingredients. Don't miss out on this place to have your morning coffee either! Atlantis Lounge a deli and always busy and just perfect has bi-folding doors which open out to Whitchurch rd the perfect spot for people watching! Along with "Waterloo Tea rooms" which s another perfect place to go for your morning coffee or your afternoon tea. All of these are only a 5minute walk from the house. Whitchurch Road has everything to offer, from two of the best Indians, Chinese Restaurants, the street offers Thai food, Turkish food, French and even has a newly opened delicious Italian restaurant! They are all located on Whitchurch Road! These are “Mint & Mustard”, “Panama”, “The Crispy Duck” “Brother Thai” and “La Pentola”. Take a look at Trip Advisor for all you need to know. If you just want simple and delicious Fish and Chips, Yans is your place! A Friendly, welsh, local family run business, we highly recommend! On Whitchurch Road, you can also find a bargain or two as there are many cool charity shops on this road. You can even pop in for a relaxing massage en route to or from your journey to/from the house. It has barbers, hairdressers, nail bars anything and everything you need is here. Whitchurch Rd is a road truly not to be missed! To the rear of the house, you also have a hairdresser, nail bar, barbers, a very small private gym, and a convenience store, literally less than a minute's walk from the back door. Deliveroo also delivers amazing takeaways from the best restaurants in Cardiff to the doorstep!!! If you wanted to walk from the house to City Centre, The Principality Stadium etc there is a beautiful walk you can take through Llandaff Fields, the best and biggest park in Cardiff. Walking in through these fields, River etc gets you from the house to the entrance of Cardiff Castle and City Centre. I would highly recommend this walk or bike ride. It Will take you no longer than 30 to 40 mins to take this beautiful walk into the city centre. . If you wanted to drive to City Centre, John Lewis offers a low-cost fee for long-stay parking. I would recommend parking here, only 8/10 mins drive away. A visit down to Wellfield Rd is recommended! You will walk past the entrance to Roath Park a Park not to be missed! (approx 5 min drive or 15 min walk away) . Don’t miss, “Juno Lounge”, “Cameo” or “Blossom Cafe” when you head down this street. PONTCANNA is home to some of the best restaurants in Wales and is located only approx 10/15 mins from the house. Thomas a Michelin Restaurant is a MUST VISIT during your stay, having spent time in London, Thomas is back in his homeland, at this elegant bar and restaurant in the leafy suburb- PONTCANNA. Open with a cocktail on the pavement terrace or in the dark, moody interior. Prime Welsh ingredients are delivered with restraint; the Muscovado tart is a must. Milkwood Cardiff, The Lazy Leek, Canna Deli and Kemis are all also must places to eat in PONTCANNA! Thank me later. “Nook” is a Michelin recommended restaurant located in Canton (approx 10 mins from the house) along with Bully’s another favourite of mine!!!!! French, British or welsh choice here, it’s great!!!! If you want the best Thai in Cardiff head to “Tuk Tuk” located on Crwys Rd. Cardiff Market is a must-visit place when you’re visiting... Fresh, quality local produce and a friendly charm, an indoor Victorian market experience! At Christmas the outdoor markets are fantastic! A real must-do! DEPOT is a colourful, outdoor street food spot another must-see! The Brecon Beacons or Brecon Beacons National Park is located only an hour drive away from this city house along with PEN Y FAN home to one of Wales’ big three mountains. There are six peaks in the Brecon Beacons, four main valleys and several lakes making it a very popular destination for hiking, although the conditions can be extreme so please be fully prepared if you intend to climb any of the ranges. Monmouth is located only 40 mins from the house which is a must-see! A beautiful, picturesque small town not to be missed! Find out for yourself! If you wanted to travel slightly further (1.5 hour drive away) Hay on Wye is a book lovers dream. Hay on Wye is home to the world-famous annual Hay Literary Festival. There are over 20 bookshops in the small market town, some with a variety of everything, some with specialisms sure as poetry, crime books, children’s books and even one with a traditional cinema in! You can easily spend an afternoon wandering around here and hopping between quaint cafes and beautiful bookshops. For a fun cafe experience, head down to the river to The Bean Box. This is a pop-up style cafe in the back garden of the Bridge Hotel with lovely outdoor seating and a view of the river.
