Roy's place was exactly as described/pictured. The rooftop terrace and hot tub were both great, we didn't get the best weather so couldn't view the volcano but still sat up on the roof and used the hot tub most days. Flowers and plants on entrance are really pretty and attract hummingbirds. The inside was spacious and clean, location was slightly out of town but in a very nice area and was very easy to get an Uber/taxi to anywhere in La Fortuna and easy pick-ups for day trips.

Roy's place was a great home base for us in La Fortuna. It is very close to downtown, but in a quiet residential area. Easy access to everything you need, including a grocery store just a block away. The home is cozy, clean, and comfortable, with good A/C and comfy beds. The outdoor areas (front patio and rooftop) are beautiful and well appointed. We enjoyed the swing on the roof for volcano-gazing and the outdoor jetted tub (with complimentary spa robes and LED candles!) for recovering after our jungle adventures. The al-fresco dining area provides a gracious contrast to the indoor bar seating. Blackout curtains in the bedroom allowed us to sleep in (despite the 5:30 sunrise), and the comfy couch (and big TV) in the family room was a great hangout spot. Roy and his team were very responsive. The guidebook was well curated with all of the necessary information, as well as recommendations for the area. We loved La Fortuna, and wished we had a few more days to spend there!

We loved Roy's place. Great hosts who were very responsive and welcoming. They sent a 20 page document with check-in details, curated selections of restaurants, things to do, and other key details for those new to the La Fortuna area. We were also impressed with the amenities of the place. The beds were comfortable, all appliances were super clean, there were plenty of supplies, and endless hot water. The location was really great for us. There is a local bakery with good coffee, several convenience stores and a supermarket all within a 5 minute walk. The neighborhood is very friendly and easy to be in. Also helpful, the hosts can arrange tours for you, we selected a big tour with many stops including hanging bridges, hot springs, waterfall swim, and a volcano hike. The arranged tour was very professional with an excellent guide and driver. Hosts will also deliver breakfast for you for a small fee, super convenient. My wife especially liked the hanging swing on the rooftop.
