The good: Alexandra and her parents are lovely and communication is good. The bad: This a cheap via Airbnb, so we weren't expecting too much, but what the lovely pictures of the terrace don't show is that is overlooks a busy and noisy road. There is also a cockerel who lives next door and that is all you can hear from about 3am every morning. The lack of kitchen facilities made it very difficult to prepare a meal as there was only a microwave and one gas ring Though the fridge is of a good size. We had to ask for another mug as there was only one, and there was no tin opener either, we had to go downstairs and borrow one. Summary: This is a good base, if you don't mind the noise and the family are lovely, and it is cheap, BUT when we were left stranded as our flight was cancelled and needed 2 more days accommodation. The night price escalated. I queried this and was told that outside airbnb bookings the night rate is double, so we decided that we would (and did) find a much better place for that amount.

I had the most enjoyable stay at Alexandra's beautiful apartment! Alexandra and her parents were always ready to help with questions and made my stay really comfortable and personal! The spacious patio with stunning seaview was my favourite part! On arrival I was welcomed with fresh local fruit in the kitchen, super clean rooms and heartwarming friendliness! I will most definitely be back for more time at Alexandra's place! 5 star rating from my side!

Our stay in alexandra apartment was absolutly amazing and funny! Alexandra's family is lovely and always at your disposal for information about bus service, good shopping, beautiful beach. Silvia is a wonderful woman with a big heart, she prepared for us delicius mauritian food, fresh fish and good vegetableas. We feel like a big family for all our stay in grande graube. The apartment is confortable, air co. in the bedroom is excellent, the terrace was perferct for our breakfast and dinner in front of the sea... Grand Graube is a quiet village, with good service bus to visit all the island...we stayed there 2 weeks and we get only bus to visite the north and the south...amazing experience if you want to live in symbiosis with the mauritian people. If you travel alone do not hesitage to book this place :) If you want to explore real Mauritius you should stay in this beautiful place with honest hosts:) You may think that you will be far from some touristic places but this is a plus. You can easyli communicate with all part of the Island using taxi (just ask the Alexandra) or bus (bus stop is couple meters far away from apartment).
