The Ammoudara Beach has been awarded for many years with a blue flag proving the purity of its waters. Along this long beach you can choose either organized areas with umbrellas, sunbeds and beach bars, or quieter and natural landscapes.
In addition, for fans of surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing and water sports in general, it is worth noting that there is intense activity in the area.
Taxi and bus station to Heraklion city, airport, port, Knossos and any place you possibly want to visit, is a 1 minute walk from the apartment, and transportation is operating all day!

Ammoudara located just 7 km from the city of Heraklion and 13 minutes drive (14km) from the Heraklion Airport. Buses to and from Heraklion are available every 20 minutes from Ammoudara.
Heraklion is the biggest city of Crete and the 3rd/4th biggest city of Greece. It hosts a lovely Venician fortress next to the water, where the locals enjoy their daily walks.
You can find great restaurants, bars, clubs and shops in the center of the city.
The Knossos palace, the center of Minoan civilisation and the oldest city in Europe, is just 10km away from villa.
The location is very convenient for visits in surrounding towns and beaches.
Crete is a very big island.
Bus Station:
The number of the line is 6 and named "Ammoudara NR6". In the summer there is a bus every 10 minutes to Heraklion, port and the airport until to midnight and every one hour to the Minoan place of Knossos. In any case taxi won't cost you a lot due to the short distance.
