Cleanliness, breakfast, location, all 10/10, The main problem with the booking was the owners, didn’t feel fully comfortable, got told to shut up when we arrived because it was late but it felt inconsiderate, only about 10pm, woke up at 7am from the noise of the kitchen, they closed the pool when we got told it would be possible to use it until 1pm on checkout day. Felt unwelcome and like we were being pushed out, didn’t say goodbye or anything like that. Felt potentially like it was a potential inconvenience with a language barrier, even though we were speaking portuguese in Portugal. Overall rated 3/5 as the positives do outweigh the negatives, maybe it was a bad day but we didn’t feel fully welcomed.

A Casa Carvalhal é um espaço muito bonito, com uma decoração espetacular e um jardim muito bem tratado. Ficamos numa suite o 1º andar e da cama tínhamos uma vista espetacular para a serra e um terraço maravilhoso com vista para a piscina, para descontrair e apreciar a paisagem. Todo o espaço está bastante limpo, nomeadamente os quartos e wc's, impecáveis. A piscina tem sempre a água com uma temperatura muito agradável e é muito boa. Os anfitriões são muito organizados e simpáticos, proporcionando-nos uma estadia 5 estrelas. Recomendamos e por nós voltaremos logo que pudermos! Tranquilidade e beleza, num espaço com enorme bom gosto!

Great getaway in a quite and beautiful region which appears to harbour quite some hidden gems. Herman & Luc are friendly and resourceful hosts and the B&B is just spot-on. Super clean and well-equipped, nicely designed, beautiful pool, excellent breakfast and great advice from the hosts. Highly recommended!
