Our stay at this Airbnb was a unique experience as it was our first time in an old house, but we loved the charm it offered. The location was perfect, with George Town right in the middle, earning a solid 10/10. While the unit itself was a mix of old and new, with an old exterior but a nicely renovated interior, we would rate it a 7.5/10. Cleanliness was impeccable, earning a solid 10/10, indicating excellent maintenance.The responsiveness of the hosts, especially the uncle who repaired the door promptly, was exceptional, warranting a perfect 10/10. However, the main door, being part of an old house, posed a slight issue, earning an 7/10.Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose to stay here again.

The Number 10 shophouse at The Green House is a lot of space for the money. The well-equipped kitchen, big refrigerator, washing machine, and clothes drying racks are super useful for longer-stay travelers. The location is within a 10 minute walk of lots of things to see and do in Georgetown, as well as restaurants, malls, and the Giant supermarket. The rental agents (Homestay Helper) were very good communicators and worked quickly to restore the electricity and wifi when they went out one evening because of a blown fuse. The air conditioners (in the bedrooms and living room) and the ceiling fans are wonderful in Penang's hot weather. However, it's hard to be cool and have natural light at the same time in the living room, because you need to close the shutters if you run the air conditioner. So the house can feel a bit dark inside (though there are plenty of lamps). Other things to note: The second bedroom has no windows, and The TV in the main bedroom doesn't work.

The house is in a great position if heritage and local culture is your thing. We had many friendly conversations with neighbours and business people nearby and learned much about the people of Penang and their culture, which would never have happened if we stayed in a hotel in the newer more touristy areas. I would gladly recommend the house.

Nice, peaceful and a reasonable house that situated near major historical places of George Town (walking distances).
