Excellent value. Basic and somewhat dated, but very clean and comfortable. Wifi was welcome, although a little unreliable. We had two separate units. One was set in a lovely secluded walled garden with Mango trees, Bananas and garden furniture. The other was attached to the main house. The font door to the unit in the main house opened directly to the toilet/bathroom which you have to walk through to get to the living quarters, which was a little unusual! Apart from that, very good value.

Our host was lovely and very accommodating. Our flight was delayed by 3 days (and 2 hours) and she was able to accommodate us without extra charge. The host is not the air bnb contact, but the air bnb contact was also very quick to respond, and arranged a taxi from the airport for us. Matanzas was the city we landed in as a family with 3 young children. The location of this house was not a good fit for us with the young kids because it was on a very busy road with narrow sidewalks and limited food options within walking distance. We prioritized having a kitchen but didn't realize how hard it was to buy groceries in Cuba. Our host was attentive and answered all our questions pleasantly but she assumed we had more experience in Cuba than we did. For example, the sign in the room gives WiFi login information but our host did not mention we have to buy cards to use the internet. We have extensive experience traveling to developing countries but found Matanzas a tough start to our Cuba trip
