I love places to experience and enjoy and I say: “where I’ve got my feet I’ve got my roots.” Now that I’ve seen the world I want the world to see and experience the wonderful place I enjoy today. This is the place of my “real” roots, the place where my great great grandfather lived and it is called Innnasjön and is situated in a rural location in Swedish Lapland, 40 kilometers from Skellefteå, 100 kilometers från Umeå och10km from Burträsk, the special place which is the only place in the world where Västerbotten Cheese may be produced. At Innansjön there are possibilities all year round to experience nature and recuperate from the stresses of modern life. During each season we enjoy the forest and look for wild animals such as elk, deer, hare and fox. And we have also seen bears in the village. We have lakes where you can navigate by kayak or by rowing boat during the summers or walk with snow-shoes on the ice during the winter. Our winter landscapes offers vast spaces of glistening pristine snow, dark nights with clear star sprinkled sky and at times an incredible northern light (aurora borealis) dances across the dark Northern sky bringing its special light to the winter night. In summer we have the most fantastic white summer nights with its special light and birds singing nearly round the clock. The intenseness of the vegetation growth during our short, but bright, summers is such that it is almost possible to hear the grass growing Villa Insight Boardinghouse & Retreat Center is situated in the middle of the elongated village Innansjön. Here you have rooms for your inner and outer journey, with a forest to the north and an open landscape and a lake to the south and a silence that needs to be experienced to be believed. Villa Insight offers a space for meetings, conversations, reflection, development, creativity, exercise, recuperation and silence. We are open all year round. Welcome to us! Go for a walk in the forest, look out over the see, gaze at a fantastic starry skyes. Forest walks diminish our amount of stress hormones. Research shows that magnificent nature experiences make us into better, less selfish human beings. Nature makes us feel better. The conclusion of the scientists is that people, who realize that they themselves are not the centre of the world but that everything is part of the world, take more note of others and are more willing to help others. ( Explore the nature in the area surrounding Villa Insight: •Walk in the forest and look for wild animals like elks, hares and foxes - bears have also been seen in the village •Walk in the village or follow snowmobile trails on foot or while skiing •Put on snow-shoes and make your own trail and go explore the ice and the islands •Use a chair on runners (a “spark”) to kick yourself through the village one winter night with starry sky •If you are lucky you may get to see the northern lights dance in the northern sky •Make snow angels •Sit in the sauna and swim in the lake during the summer or roll in the soft snow in the winter •Use the barbecue of Villa Insight and enjoy grilled sausages •Use a rowing boat or kayak to explore Gökssjön and embark on one or more of its several islands •Sleep a night in the cottage on a small island in the lake •Go fishing from boat or from the shore or through holes in the ice at Göksjön, Stora Bygdeträsket or Risån •Follow the footpath along Risån (a stream) and find and use the barbecue hut and timbered cottage with a small stove •Go swimming from the fine sandy beach within a kilometer from Villa Insight •Visit the ancient quarries in the village, where the young people today are diving in the turquoise waters •Go berry and mushroom picking in the autumn Villa Insights provides rental of snow-shoes, sauna, rowing boats, kayaks and the house on the small island and also help with buying fishing license and rent skies and book activities such as ice fishing, snowshoeing, and dog sledge rides CREATIV RESIDENS, You may also choose to come to Villa Insight simply to spend time with yourself or to pursue creative interests such as writing, painting... thus using Villa Insight as your Creative Residence.
