Rionegro is the best option to stay in Oriente Antioqueño, we are only 15 minutes from José María Córdova International Airport, 50 minutes from Medellín and one hour from Guatapé.
If your trip is for business, Rionegro is a great option to stay, since you can easily move through the 23 municipalities of Oriente Antioqueño and easily access the city of Medellín. Similarly, if your trip is for tourism, Rionegro is the best option to stay; Well, not only does the city have great attractions in its surroundings, but from there you can easily reach tourist municipalities such as Guatapé, San Rafael, Concepción or the city of Medellín.
Rionegro also has a wide range of services that will make your visit to Eastern Antioquia very enjoyable.
If you love shopping, there are different options very close to our accommodation. The San Nicolás shopping center, a landmark in the city, is only 1.5kms from our apartment, and there you can find a wide variety of stores to satisfy your shopping needs, while you have excellent options to choose a restaurant of your preference.
The Historic District of Rionegro is only three blocks from the apartment. This is a great commercial and tourist epicenter with very good options to eat, to buy and to get around. In its surroundings you can find a great variety of historical buildings and museums that complement your visit around downtown.
On the outskirts of the city there are also other options, such as the recently opened Jardines de Llanogrande shopping center, which has a very good offer for shopping and eating.

To get to Rionegro. If you arrive in Colombia or Antioquia through the José María Córdova International Airport in Rionegro, simply take a taxi or bus to Rionegro at the airport exit. Make sure it is heading towards the urban area of Rionegro.
Uber is also an available option; we recommend waiting for your transportation on the upper platform of the airport, as there is usually heavy traffic in the lower part of the airport for both domestic and international arrivals, making it difficult to pick you up.
If you are coming from the city of Medellín, there are several options to get to Rionegro. If you are driving, options include taking the Las Palmas road to Rionegro and then entering via the La Fé-Llanogrande road, taking the Las Palmas variant, or taking the recently inaugurated Eastern Tunnel, which will bring you to the airport in just 25 minutes from Medellín.
If you are in the north of Medellín or the Aburrá Valley, the best option is to take the Medellín-Bogotá highway and enter Rionegro via the Belén road or the Tranvia road. Both entrances are well signposted and easily accessible to Rionegro. The trip through the Medellín-Bogotá highway takes approximately 50 minutes from Medellín.
If you are coming by public transport from Medellín, the best option is to take the metro to the Caribe station and walk to the north terminal. Once there, you should look for the platform for buses to Rionegro. You have two options: the bus and the aerovan. The bus makes several stops on its way to Rionegro; the aerovan goes directly from the north terminal to Rionegro without stopping and the price difference is not significant in my opinion.
