The noble townhouse is part of the building designed by famous Chilean architect Sergio Larrain about 100 years ago. It belongs to Chilean cultural heritage and is protected by the state. For the past 18 years, the house has been owned by Chilean artist Francisco Bustamante, whose artwork is inside. It has 3 floors, 3.5 meters high ceiling, elegant classic interiors, and 2 green terraces. No parties or smoking inside are allowed. To be accepted, a minimum of 4 positive reviews is required. The house is located in a heart of a Providencia area 5 min away from the Baquedano subway station. Even though it is right next to the busy street, inside you will find a calm and peaceful retreat from the chaos of the city. The house is suitable for a big family of up to 6-8 people with accommodation in three bedrooms on the third floor with two old-stylish bathrooms. On the second floor situated commodious living, and dining room with antique furniture belonging to the owner's grandparents, a little kitchenette, a secluded mirror cabinet with the working space, and entrances to the two terraces. The first floor has a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, washing machine, and dryer. The house has a garage with a parking space for a rather small car. If you plan to rent a vehicle, please check with me in advance about the size of the parking entrance. Behind the house is a little park with a beautiful old church Santos Angeles Custodious, also known as a “Vaticano chico” or “Little Vatican”. There is a playground for kids right between the church and the house, so it is an added bonus if you have children. It is within walking distance from the historical center, the bohemian Bellavista and Barrio Italia neighborhoods, the Fine Art Museum, and Gabriela Mistral cultural center. Across the street from the house, there is a park where you can have a walk next to the Mapocho River or take a lovely and safe bike ride along the stream, up the city, next to the hills. Francisco's home is fantastic, and Francisco was an outstanding host - highly, highly recommended. I stayed in Francisco's home for a few days as part of a large family group: my wife and I, my in-laws, and my 4 young children. 8 people total spanning 3 generations on our first trip to Chile. The house was a fantastic base for our time in Santiago. It is as beautiful and striking as it appears in the pictures - Francisco's home is really charming and very unique. It was extremely comfortable (great beds, dark window shades, wonderful temperature control) and full of amenities (excellent wifi, washer and dryer, great kitchen). Francisco was a perfect host: proactive and quick to respond to our communication, flexible in terms of check in and check out, and very helpful (he recommended a driver to get us at the airport, had restaurant recs, etc). If you want a central, unique, comfortable place in Santiago with a great host, this is your spot!

Great home. Located close to all Santiago has to do. We enjoyed a few glasses of wine on the terrace and the old architecture. The home is equipped with black out blinds which was nice especially if you have jet lag. We will stay here again next time for sure. 👍

House is beautiful, just like the photos. Was cozy and had everything we needed for our family stay. We really enjoyed spending a little time on the terrace. Francisco was super responsive and so helpful. We enjoyed the neighborhood and walked to many places. Just a note - there are a lot of stairs! Not an issue for us, but if you have trouble with stairs not the place for you. Otherwise would definitely recommend for your stay!

This place is perfectly situated for seeing the highlights of Santiago with nearly everything reachable on foot, but the true magic of Francisco's place is the house itself. You could imagine yourself in the "Big House on the Corner" from Isabel Allende's book. It is gracious and old with modern touches. It was the perfect place for our party of 8 with excellent, elegant communal spaces and places to retreat. Two terraces that were excellent for breakfast in the mornings, drinks in the afternoon. Just a really special place, not to be missed.

What a beautiful Airbnb! Francisco is the most gracious host. He was there to greet us at the Airbnb when our flight came in early. He is very responsive to questions and left a list of restaurants to try. The house is very spacious. The beds and linen were super comfortable and there were tons of hangers in the closet to hang up our clothes. It’s felt very centrally located. We easily walked to Lastarria, Bellavista, and Barrio Italia. Highly recommend!

The best possible way to discover Providencia and Santiago Center is walking, buses, and subway. You must carry your 'bip' card for buses and subway. Ticket offices are in major subway stations.
Parking around the city is paid.
