Burry Port is located in the middle of Swansea and Carmarthen, just 5 minutes away from the spectacular Pembrey Country Park, with its award winning golden sandy beach, dry ski slope, toboggan ride, crazy golf, train rides, adventure play area and a variety of nature trails, there's something for everyone.
It has a deep-rooted connection to Amelia Earhart and you can view the Amelia Earhart Gardens and a Grade II-listed monument dedicated to her. You can also visit the tomb of Adeline Colquelin, niece of Josephine, Empress of France who died on a shipwreck which was lost off the shore is 1828, as part of the Carmarthenshire Tomb Trail. There are several poignant reminders of shipwrecks that happened off this coast at Cefn Sidan beach.
In the centre of Burry Port, you will find an array of amenities including a Co-op, cafes, fish & chip shops, restaurants, pubs, a bakery and butchers to name a few.
Take long walks along the beaches (if you go past the marina on the western side, you'll see the lighthouse and fantastic views of Gower and the estuary) or the Millennium Coastal path, a superb coastal route approx. 13 miles long that takes you to Llanelli with lots to see and do along the way including the Wetlands Center where you can hand feed the rarest goose in the world and see their colourful flamingos, enjoy a spot of bird watching and explore the reserve to see the butterflies and dragonflies.
For the keen golfers, 5 minutes drive away from the house is the Ashburnham golf club, one of the finest Championship Links courses in Britain.
Slightly further afield (approx. 15 min drive), you'll find Machynys Golf club which includes a spa, gym and bar & brasserie.
Petrol heads will enjoy Pembrey Circuit where you can drive a range of cars or spectate the race meetings. Next to this is the unique Pembrey commercial Airport and flight school.
Burry Port is just 5 miles from Llanelli's shopping centres and retail parks for those looking for some retail therapy.
Ffos Las Racecourse is approx. 16 min drive from the apartment and historic Kidwelly just over 5 miles with it's magnificent medieval Castle and a great bar and restaurant, The Old Moathouse who serve delicious tapas style sharing plates using locally sourced ingredients.
You'll find many other places worth visiting, both within close proximity and slightly further afield such as the stunning Gower Peninsula with breathtaking beaches, wild moors and limestone cliffs. It's a favourite destination for walkers and surfers. You certainly won't be short of exiting adventures during your stay and The Burrows is a great place to come and relax outside of the city.

Whether you are travelling by car or public transport, The Crescent is conveniently located for all, with parking for 1 car outside the house and on street parking and the train station and bus stop only a 15 minute walk from our home, making it the perfect base for exploring the Carmarthenshire coast and countryside. Nearby towns include Llanelli, Kidwelly and Carmarthen with the closest city being Swansea just over 30 minutes drive from the house.
