The house is located very centrally - right in the middle of Gower St, which is the heart of downtown. You’re only a 3-minute walk to restaurants and shops, and another 10-minute walk to see the remainder of downtown. The area is very safe and visitor friendly. Just a street down and you’re on Duckworth St, one of the two main shopping streets of historic downtown. Another street down and you’re on Water St, which is right by the water and has lots of restaurants and shops. On and around Gower St, there are tons of small residential stretches where you can see the famous old colourful houses that St. John’s is known for: the so-called Jellybean row. The best part is that you’ll be staying in it!

You can easily walk around downtown from the house as it is very central. Just keep in mind that going down to Duckworth you’re going downhill. Coming back up is a very short but very steep climb.
Gower St itself is permit only, so please don’t park right in front of the house. However, there is free parking on certain sections right just a few steps from the house. One such section is the west side of Holloway St, which is a 30-second walk to the house (right side of Holloway when turning right from Gower St). There are other such sections nearby too. Most of the residential part of downtown is permit-only but there are quite a few seemingly random sections that are non-permit. Just always look at the parking signs to ensure there are no signs marking a permit area.
