Located in a small coastal village with views west to the Open Bay Islands this stunning modern bach offers a unique retreat close to nature. Designed by award-winning architect Jarrod Midgley and built in 2019, the house was inspired by a paua shell – it can open up to the sun with huge windows, deck and skylights, or be sealed tight and snug in stormy weather while you hunker down by the fire. Wonderful location for a laid-back holiday. Two night minimum stay Sleeps 6 The house has two levels separated by three stairs to allow a panoramic view from the open-plan living zone. The upper level has a fully-equipped kitchen with quality appliances and coffee machine, open-plan lounge and dining, and a covered deck. The master bedroom, walk-in wardrobe, and ensuite are also on this level. The lower level has two bedrooms, a large bathroom with underfloor heating, and a separate laundry/utility room and ping pong table. The larger bedroom downstairs has a queen bed and a king single bed, space to hang clothes and store belongings, and external access to the garden. The second downstairs bedroom has a queen bed. Behind the barn door you'll find the utility and recreation room which has a full laundry, extra frig, and ping pong table. The upper level of the house is a large light-filled loft-style space with a big skylight and huge sliding doors out to the deck; this area has spectacular views of the coast and ocean. The space has designer and bespoke furniture including a hand-made dining table (seats 6), comfy sofas, and a big galley-style fully-equipped kitchen (please note, the microwave is downstairs in the laundry if you need it). Outside there's a bbq on the deck, and you can gather herbs and vegetables from the vegetable gardens in the raised kayaks beside the house.
