Welcome to Tamworth, the historic capital of Mercia. Mercian’s Rest is a private and detached one-bedroom bungalow with full central heating that can accommodate up to 4/5 people (2 adults, 2 children, 1 infant), with secure private parking and a private access front door. Access is available to the property from 4pm on check in day and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. We are a 5 minute drive from Drayton Manor Theme Park and a 15 minute drive from The Belfry Golf Course. The accommodation consists of an entry porch, lounge/diner with kitchenette facilities, a dining table for four people, a double bedroom and en-suite shower and toilet. The lounge has two small double sofa beds and a travel cot which can be available as required. Kitchenette facilities include an undercounter fridge, washing machine, an undercounter freezer, double electric hotplate, microwave, electric mini oven, kettle and toaster. Free wifi is available in the property as well as a television connected to a G Chromecast. This allows you to connect to and stream from your personal streaming accounts. Garden facilities are shared (yet offer maximum privacy) with seating, tables, a firepit and BBQ being available for use. Logs and coal are available to purchase for an additional fee, or you can source your own. We are a 5 minute drive from Drayton Manor Theme Park, a brilliant family day out. We are a 5 minute drive from Tamworth Snowdome which is an indoor Snow and Ice Leisure facility. We are about 2 miles from Tamworth Train Station. It's a 7 minute drive or a 30 minute walk. We are a ½ mile walk from Tamworth town centre and 5 minute walk from Ventura Retail Park which boasts excellent shopping and dining. Local shops include Asda, Marks and Spencer’s, Boots, Next, Matalan, Primark, New Look, River Island, Halfords, Wilko, Poundland, Food Warehouse, Sainsburys, TK Maxx, Tesco, Home Bargains, Aldi and many more. A short drive will also take you to Morrisons, Lidl, The Range and B&M. We are very close to Tameside Nature reserve with numerous walking, cycle & canal paths close by. Food can also be ordered through numerous delivery apps including JustEat, Deliveroo & Uber Eats and can be delivered to the door. There are many public houses from traditional Real Ale pubs to the popular Weatherspoon’s within walking distance in Tamworth town centre, as well as some local pubs in Fazeley. We are happy to recommend some great places to eat and drink, just ask us! We also have some on site Guinea Pigs who you may meet in the garden. They are very friendly and love strokes and being fed green treats! (We can provide).
