Soap, shampoo, laundry soap, coffee, tea and hot chocolate are provided for your convenience. You have full access to our laundry room with washer and dryer. Wi-fi is fast and stable. Free parking in the paved driveway is monitored by a security camera to ensure the safety of your vehicle. There are no security cameras in the home, to ensure privacy. Please note: There are stairs in our home, and as such it is not suitable for individuals with physical challenges. There is a Tim Hortons coffee shop restaurant less than a 5 minute walk away, for guests who enjoy strolling and grabbing breakfast or lunch. The scenic harbour town of Fisherman's Cove is just a 5 minute drive. There is a beautiful boardwalk and beach, open year round. If you need groceries, the local grocery store is less than 5 minutes away (by vehicle) in Eastern Passage. Also in that same area, there is a delicious pizza shop, a Subway sandwich shop, A&W, gas stations, liquor store, and the local seafood restaurants at Fisherman's Cove. Our home is less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Dartmouth, and only 20 minutes from downtown Halifax. Dartmouth Crossing and the Burnside Business Park are only 15 minutes away. We are not located downtown, but that’s part of the appeal. We provide a private and quiet location which is very close to Halifax and Dartmouth, just minutes away by car or public transit :) There is a public bus stop at the bottom of the road on Main Road (an easy 5 minute walk). Bus schedules and route maps are accessible on the Halifax Metro Transit website, and are also available in your room. Buses 6B (Eastern Passage route) and 6C (Heritage Hills route) both run on the main road near our house. Both these bus routes will take you to the Woodside ferry terminal and the Alderney ferry terminal, where you can transfer onto other buses travelling all over Dartmouth and Halifax. The 6B and 6C buses begin their routes as early as 5:15 a.m. and run as late as 1:30 a.m., so they are very convenient. Bus fare (including transfers!) is only $2.75 for adults, $2.00 for youth/senior, and free for children under 12. The Woodside ferry is just a 5 minute drive away, and the Alderney ferry is a 10 minute drive. Both ferries take you directly into downtown Halifax, and they are a fun ride for anyone visiting the area for the first time!
