The Lodge is a spacious, light filled bungalow in the picturesque village of Ingleby Greenhow in the North York Moors national park. Situated at the end of its own private drive on a 1 acre plot with spectacular views of the moors and hills, peace and tranquillity abound. There is a large garden, superb walking, cycling and outdoor activities, village pub and cafe. It is perfectly situated for exploring the North York Moors national park. The Lodge is a modern(ish) bungalow in an exceptionally peaceful and private location yet with good transport links and village amenities. You can feel like you have escaped from the rest of the world without actually having to venture to the middle of nowhere. It has been modernised and refurbished to provide a comfortable, fun, family space. Enter through the utility/boot room and you will find a large well equipped kitchen with double oven range cooker. Ideal for big family meals and special occasions. Moving from the kitchen to the adjoining garden room room you will find a large open airy space with a sofa, coffee table and large dining table. The perfect spot to gather for meals, play games or just chill out and take in the 180 degree panoramic views of the hills and moors and garden. The room is underfloor heated and triple glazed so is warm all year round. There are patio doors which open on to a large patio and BBQ area giving access to the garden and linking the inside and outside spaces. There is outdoor lighting to make the most of the evenings. The space is great for stargazing and wildlife watching with lots of varied birdlife visiting the garden. Leading off the garden room is a cosy lounge with smart TV and sofas and a woodburning boiler stove. Perfect for snuggling up on winter evenings. The large picture window looks out onto the garden and views of the hills. From the Lounge there is a hall leading to the four bedrooms and centrally located main bathroom with shower and 2 person spa bath. Off the hall there are 2 large bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms, sofa's and Tv's. One has a double bed and the other a kingsize. There is a twin room with two single beds which can be linked to form a super king by prior request and a further double bedroom. All of the rooms have windows with views of green spaces, there are no immediate neighbours. The garden is a large space, great for kids and dogs to run wild, play games or just chill out and listen to the birdsong in a hammock or recliner. There is a large outdoor dining table with 8 chairs, a large charcoal BBQ and a couple of benches and coffee tables. There is a secure shed for bike storage and a local bike hire company can provide bikes during your stay if required. The surrounding moors and forests can all be accessed on foot from the property and provide superb walking and cycling options both on and off-road. The Coast to Coast and Cleveland way routes both run across the hills behind the property. For days out there are plenty of options with the stunning North Yorkshire coast with its gorgeous little coves, beaches and fishing villages just a short 25 minute drive over beautiful moorland scenery. A 10 minute walk will take you to the local train station at Battersby junction which has regular services over the moors to Whitby. You can leave the car at home and take one of the most scenic train rides in the country for fish and chips or visit the NYMR heritage railway and tour the moors and villages via steam train. The villages surrounding Ingleby Greenhow have a great selection of pubs and cafe's and many are walkable via the great network of footpaths and bridleways. There are local playparks for kids in neighbouring villages and options for horse riding tours , SUP river tours, sea fishing, golf, gliding and so much more all within a short drive.
Ingleby Greenhow is a beautiful Village in the North York moors national park with a village pub and cafe, ancient church and stream. It is surrounded by hills and forests plus picturesque villages and the neighbouring market town of Stokesley and Great Ayton. Helmsley is a short drive over the moors to the South and York is around an hours drive to the south.
Ingleby Greenhow is easily accessed via road and is around 15-20 minutes from the A19. There is an excellent network of footpaths and bridleways linking surrounding villages and the moors. The Train Station at Battersby junction has regular services over the moors to whitby via the Esk Valley line and stops off at numerous villages on the way including Grosmont. From Grosmont You can get the NYMR Steam train to explore the moors and villages.
