Relax with the whole family at this peaceful cabin. This guest cabin is located at the Outstandish Farm on the north side of Charlottesville, VA. The cabin is situated on 80 gorgeous acres that include walking/biking trails, a creek, and lots of room to play. We have chickens and guinea fowl and a friendly farm dog. The animals will all try to convince you to let them sleep inside the cabin with you, but please don't! While we love animals, we like to keep the cabin animal-free. The cabin is a cozy one and a half story design, with the master bedroom being in the loft. While the loft and stairs have a sturdy railing, the cabin was built in the 70's, and the safety code was not the same as it is today (primarily the space allowed between rails). Please look at the pictures and use your judgement if you are booking with young children. The kitchen comes stocked with all the cooking equipment you will need, if you desire to cook your own meals--even a blender and food processor! We often have traveling nurses stay here for 12 weeks at a time so it is set up with everything you would expect for day-to-day cooking--not just the bare minimum. Outside, there is a run-down, but mostly functional tennis court and basketball hoop that you are welcome to use. Just a warning, that our boys (ages 9 and 11) may come out and ask to play with you, especially if they see kids. Feel free to cool off in the creek behind the cabin, or even test your hand at gold-panning. Did you know that prior to the California Gold Rush, this region was a hot spot for gold-mining? Whether the cabin is your base or your destination, you will have plenty to do.
