We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Riposto. The apartment was big and stylish, had lots of outdoor space, fab views and a very comfortable large bed. I forgot to ask the host, but I'm pretty sure those were Missoni wallpapers!! Speaking of whom, Aretas is such a hostess with the mostess, gave us many tips and thanks to his recommendation I had one of the best pizzas ever! We were initially looking in Taormina, but we were so glad we chose here instead: it felt authentic, relaxing and much better value with everything very close - we could see Taormina and Etna (and the sea) from the terrace. An absolute gem of a find!
I had a great time staying in Aretas' lovely flat in this appealing, easygoing seaside neighbourhood. Having terraces facing both Etna and the sea was a real treat, and the place was incredibly clean and comfortable. Aretas was very kind and communicative, responding fast to any queries, and helped me arrange transport from the station. I can't wait to stay here again!
Nice apartment as described. Next to the beach and many restaurants around. Was a great time. The communication with Aretas was very easy and useful.
Sehr gepflegte , hochwertig und geschmackvoll ausgestattete Wohnung mit zwei wunderbaren Balkonen. Ideal als Ausgangspunkt , um den Etna zu besuchen!
The apartment is set on a rare seafront location, just a 3-minute walk from Riposto's main square and Cathedral, at the end of Marina dell'Etna.
The characterful town offers an abundance of fantastic restaurants, including a great selection of local gems on Michelin and Gambero Rosso guides, excellent bakeries and gellaterias, as well as the famous Riposto fish market are all on your doorstep.
Experience a true Sicilian way of life here, while the local train station lets you explore this whole side of the island easily without a car if preferred.
The local beach (just past the marina to the left) is a mixture of black volcanic sand + small pebbles and stays relatively quiet even during the summer. A good selection of beach bars is available further short walk away.
Parking in Riposto, like life, is effortless, unlike nearby Taormina. Private underground or unreserved street-level parking is offered to you for free.
The apartment is located at a central seafront location with the closest great restaurant just across the street, and the main square, bakeries, heaps of phenomenal restaurants, fantastic seafood market, local supermarket, beach and the Riposto Cathedral are located just a couple of minutes walk away from the apartment.
For the beach goers, the closest public beach (volcanic sand & small pebbles) is just a few steps away from the front gate. A row of beach bars with sun loungers and food options is just under a 10 min walk away.
If you like, you can easily spend the whole day just walking. Or the entire trip without a car, as direct trains run almost everywhere, including the airport, Catania, Syracuse, Taormina and even Rome! This is particularly great news for the more faint-hearted, as local driving tendencies are known far and wide. The only important place where trains do not go is up to Etna. A private tour to wineries, the slopes, or a day car/scooter hire can be arranged locally in Riposto.
For those travelling by car, you can choose between more scenic and free but run down and longer local roads or the paid motorway. I prefer going to Taormina on a train or regional roads while popping over to Catania by train or motorway. Entrances and exits to motorways, as well as surrounding local roads, can get exceptionally crowded during peak hours, during which I suggest checking your navigation and potentially choosing local roads instead if that does not require going through too many town centres.
Useful tips:
- If hiring a scooter, make sure to get a powerful one, as the climb up to Etna can get quite steep at times;
- If hiring a car, check whether the car hire includes snow chains and if they are actually in the vehicle upon departure. Not that you will likely need them, but you will undoubtedly be asked about their whereabouts upon return...
- On top of the detailed documentation at pick up, take a 360 video of your hired vehicle to have your evidence of the state in which it was given to you.
自我介绍
A very keen traveller. Personal record: just over a hundred flights in one year. I love exploring new places, especially experiencing the local way of life, and, of course, returning to my old favourites. Hate standard hotels and sterile ikea apartments. Love fine and performing arts, fresh local food, unique experiences and unique stays. A thoughtful, very hospitable and friendly host, same as a traveller.
