The park Scheldeveste is within walking distance of the beach, you can leave the car at home for a day at the beach. The village of Breskens is nearby where there are supermarkets and delicious restaurants. Staying at one of the many terraces or strolling through the harbor, it is all possible.
With historic cities such as Middelburg, Brugge and Gent about 60 minutes by car, a day in the city is certainly a possibility. Sluis is another town that is definitely worth a visit (15min.) as is Knokke.
