Relax with the whole family at this tranquil retreat. The driveway descends into a private valley, secluded from the world. Though many guests simply enjoy the natural beauty of the trails, the view off the decks, and the comfort of the air conditioned home, the homestead is also a great launching place for day trips to local state parks. It is a perfect venue for family to visit with extended family and friends. The log home, with three bedrooms in the loft, can accommodate a family or three couples. The fully equipped cottage is a perfect place for a couple wanting privacy. Trails meander through the woods and down the hill to a picnic area by Elk Creek.

Ambleside is a treasure. We stay in a lot of airbnbs and this one is special. We felt right at home. We had everything we needed for a wonderful weekend with extended family. The outdoor space is so peaceful and serene. The sheep next door were delightful. We appreciated that there was plenty of dining and living space for the stated number of guests. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything needed to cook for a big group. The little cottage next door was perfect to give a little extra privacy to our son & daughter in law and their infant. We loved our short time at Ambleside and would return in a heartbeat. Thanks Stephen and Claudia for sharing this place with us.

Picture perfect place to stay. Super peaceful and relaxing. The little lambs were a bonus as they still had nursing babies and we loved watching them from the dining room. Also, the golden retriever next door was a hoot! We hid easter eggs for our kids the morning we were leaving, and he just ran and played with us! Would def book again!
Beautiful place to stay, pictures don’t actually do the place justice. The living space and bed rooms are bigger than the photos show! Very peaceful setting perfect for relaxing. Not a bad drive to get to civilization for food and other necessities. Steve provided some excellent options for local hikes and things to see.
This is the first time my husband and I have rented an air an airbnb Como. Packet where we was able to bring our whole family in during a time of loss. At the time, we did not realize that we were getting a cabin included to the house which was a wonderful deal. My husband and I stayed in the cabin. While we let our children and grandchildren stay in the house. It was perfect beautiful. The kids had many things to do I hope that we get to come back and if we do. This would be the place I would love to be

There are two homesteads in the visible part of the valley. Our neighbors live up the hill in a beautiful log home, but our guests are not likely to see them. They are delightful, friendly people.
The steepness of our driveway can be daunting to those who did not grow up in mountainous terrain, but we have never had any of our hundreds of guests have difficulty getting up or down the drive. We are on a US Highway which is well cared for, especially when snow is expected.
