There is so much to do in the area:
Bath is a 5 minute drive away with its beautiful Georgian architecture, the famous Roman Baths, Thermae Spa, Theatre Royal and many fabulous restaurants and bars as well as a wealth of independant shops and the world famous Christmas Market.
Dyrham Park (National Trust) is just 4 miles down the road. The ancient deer park, 17th-century house and garden where an historic herd of fallow deer roams freely in the 270 acres (110 hectares) of ancient parkland, full of magnificent trees and breathtaking views. It's a great day out for children who can run free in the Old Lodge picnic and play area, take part in a nature trail and tick off challenges on their 50 things list.
The Georgian town of Frome is about a 20 minute drive and is renowned for its monthly market. The Frome Independent is an award winning, destination street market showcasing the best independent craftspeople, designers, makers, producers and traders in the South West. It happens on the first Sunday of the month and feels more like trendy East London than a sleepy Somerset town with a vibrant and eclectic mix of street food, designer makers and DJs.
Bristol is about 10 miles away and offers extensive shopping, @Bristol- a fantastic family science themed day out, Bristol Aquarium, Bristol Zoo as well as the iconic Clifton suspension bridge among other things.
Bradford on Avon is a lovely Georgian town with beautiful canal and river walks as well as the histroic Tythe Barn and many independent shops.
Further a field is Longleat House and safari Park, Westonbirt Arboretum, Cotswold Water Park, Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and many, many more attractions.

The property is located in a fairly rural location so a car is essential. The public transport is limited with a bus service into Bath running once per day. A taxi back from Bath costs about £12-£15 and we would be happy to give guests an occasional lift into Bath if required.
If you enjoy walking you can walk to The Hare and Hounds, an award wining pub which is about 4 miles away. We have done this many times as a family and the views are incredible. We suggest you walk there and get a taxi home.
