Birgitta’s is an idyllic lake front location with magnificent views from every room in a well appointed and comfortable home. The cottage comes with everything you need to enjoy the lake - a private dock and kayaks, a great outdoor space for relaxing and enjoying the views, a fire pit for campfires and s’mores, and more. Birgitta is a responsive and hospitable host. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay for enjoying our Rangeley Lake vacation.

Rangeley is a beautiful town and the house could not have been better situated. It was so nice to have a pedestrian experience and yet be secluded in a beautiful setting. The house was decorated in the most tasteful decor and the outdoor seating areas and beautiful plantings added to the amazing ambience of a romantic, lakeside retreat. It was a wonderful experience!

Birgitta is the perfect host. The home is gorgeous and in a gorgeous setting. She has an eye for every detail - be it the decorating or the little touches like water on the nightstands in the master suite. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Waking up every morning to the view of the lake with the breezes cooling you, was heavenly. The kitchen is well-equipped with pots and pans, knives, etc. Most everything one might need. She had thoughtfully provided lake towels as well. I love the outdoor shower and hope to get one in my own home! (Note, it is the only shower available in the master suite). Birgitta had put out beautiful fresh flowers in almost every room. I don't think I ever waited longer than 3 mins for her response to any questions. The dock and outdoor seating areas were lovely and comfortable. She also has beautiful flowers and bird feeders all around. It was so nice to see and hear the loons every day. With her bird feeders, we also saw goldfinches, nuthatches, hummingbirds, little red squirrels, chipmunks, and so many more. We even saw an eagle, and heard a Pileated woodpecker in the woods. The days were warm and the nights cool for great sleeping. The water was quite temperate, though maybe we got lucky. Overall, we loved our stay. The house is beautiful and comfortable. I was a little worried it was too "perfect" but it was quite homey and comfortable. We had dinner and played games on the porch table every day, with the breeze off the lake but protected from any insects. Though I have to say, it wasn't even buggy at all. The only thing I would point out that might not suit some people, is the location. It is private, but not secluded. It is on a beautiful point, but know that from one side of the house you are across the water from a public beach and marina so you have that visual from certain areas of the yard, and the accompanying voice and play noises. Also know that there is a nearby marina/public dock so you get more passersby (boats, jet skis) than you might compared to other areas of the lake. In addition, the local sea planes take off and land on this point. At first, it's quaint and fun to watch but by the end of the week, or when it's an semi-early morning run, the take-off noise can be a little jarring if you are trying to sleep in or enjoy coffee on the dock. We did partake of the sightseeing on the sea plane ourselves, and very much enjoyed the view from the air. Birgitta was instrumental in arranging this trip for us, even bought us a drink at a local restaurant (Forks in the Air - reservations recommended during high season) and did everything possible to make us feel welcomed and at home. She thought of everything, from luxurious towels, to toiletries, really...

Brigitta's home was the perfect destination for our trip east to Maine. The location was beautiful (isolated, quiet and right on the water), and also very convenient to town (walking distance to main street in Rangeley). Her home itself was beautifully decorated and full stocked (her kitchen had any and all tools necessary to make a beautiful dinner). In addition to the location and beautiful home, her beds were beyond comfortable, the house and towels were fully stocked and everything was pristine clean. One of our favorite parts of the house was the outdoor shower, and great deck. We loved our time here, and would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a true Rangeley lake experience in a beautiful home.
