We weren't told in advance that Gregg would change the house we initially ordered. The home we received was a bit cheaper and smaller than the one we ordered. We ordered the Bamboo bungalow but received the Coral bungalow. It was disappointing that Gregg didn't ask us if we wanted a different bungalow with 1 bed instead of 2. In the house rules, there was no mention that we would not be able to wear shoes inside either. It was very cold these few days and it would've been good if Gregg put on the house rules manual that we couldn't wear shoes inside and then we would've brought warm socks with us. The location was beautiful and we enjoyed all of the parks and nature. It was very quiet and peaceful.

We arrived after check-in time. Nobody was there to let us in, and we had heard nothing from the host. We followed the check-in instructions by calling the onsite manager and the host, but both calls went to voicemail. We were stuck outside waiting by the front gate with our luggage. We found the key to the unit we had booked in the mailbox. We used the key to enter the unit, and found that it was under construction and uninhabitable: the floors were being redone, and the furniture had been removed from the unit and stacked outside. There was no bed in the bedroom and no furniture at all in the living room. Construction materials were everywhere. We messaged the host on Airbnb but received no response until hours later. We left the property and cancelled our reservation. The host later told us that he intended to move us to a different unit, but failed to tell us this at check-in. The property is in a good location and the other units may be fine, but we had a very bad experience.

When you go through the gates to the Grove Bungalows, you enter an oasis of complete quiet- and laid-backness. The cozy, personal style and atmosphere makes the four bungalows and common area with a pool under the mangroves one of a kind. It’s located just a few minutes by foot away from Downtown Coconut Grove - ´The Grove´- which oozes charm and good vibes with loads of delicious cafés, restaurants, stores and the Saturday Organic Market. Gregg was an extremely helpful host - going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. He helped us out with bikes, BBQ, a fire pit and loads of useful tips. Upon arrival, Gregg was in a very difficult situation with the bungalow originally intended for us suffering from water damage - he handled that perfectly, relocating us to another bungalow at very short notice. I have nothing bad to say. We would definitely return anytime!
