The villa was extraordinary. The location, view, and beautiful settings were incomparable. Our extended family thoroughly enjoyed every moment. The peace and quiet, the private stone beach, the lovely patios with myriad places to sit and enjoy the gorgeous views - all were remarkable. Mara is a lovely lady, sweet and generous and full of excellent recommendations for dining and enjoyment of Hydra. Her caretaker Bam was sweet and available for any concerns. The villa had very comfortable beds, clean showers and bathrooms, a nice kitchen, innumerable dining venues indoors and out, screens and new windows throughout as well as a/c. The decor was pristine white, comfortable and yet very personal, a real home with a family history and yet a stylish look. WiFi and TV worked well. We would unreservedly recommend Mara’s Villa as a one of a kind, extraordinary experience.

We had contact with Mara in the weeks leading up to our stay. She organised our sea taxi from the port and arranged for a supermarket shop to be completed, so we arrived to a fully stocked house! We were met off of the boat by Mara and Bam who couldn’t do more to help us, provide advice and be genuinely thoughtful that we should enjoy our stay as much as possible. Bam was fantastic at keeping everywhere tidy, including a full clean half way through the week and always with a friendly smile on his face. The villa location is probably the best in Hydra, minutes to the port, yet isolated and private with its own beach and facilities - we were totally blown away and already had high expectations. There’s a terrace for every stage of the day and the house has everything you could ever need and more. A huge thanks to Mara and Bam for making our holiday so fantastic. We will be back!

Stunning location, beautiful house overlooking the sea. It is located a 5 minute sea taxi or a beautiful 40 minute walk along the coast from the main port. The house has its own dock and Mara can help organize transportation easily. The house itself is charming and wonderfully decorated in relaxing whites and blues. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you’d need. The house has tons of outdoor patio space with several large sitting areas - even more spacious than pictures make it seem. Mara is an incredible host! She was proactive in helping get us groceries and arrange for sea taxis on arrival. She helped us with complicated early departures and arranging private sea taxis and cars. She truly is wonderful, gracious and very hospitable. Cannot recommend this house or Mara as a host enough. We had an amazing time and cannot wait to come back! Highly recommend this house for your stay on Hydra, it will not disappoint!
