PLEASE READ BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO BOOK ANY SPACE: 1) NO RESERVATION IF UNDER 25! NO STRAW or PROXY RESERVATIONS (parent reserving for minor)! 2) We require a 4 wk minimum reservation for the PRIME 'HIGH SEASON' period (JAN-MARCH 2024 (need), but will accept shorter rentals IF the house is not fully rented for the Prime Months (Jan-March inclusive) by Dec 15 2023. We will continue minimum weekly rentals during 'off-season' (late Spring, Summer & Fall) months. See trip length restrictions. This is a new-in-2014 luxury home - little expense was spared in construction, landscaping or outfitting, designed for indoor-outdoor living, with a large pool/jacuzzi, garden & lanai area. Our home's best feature for Florida living, where much of the Winter can be spent outdoors, is the huge integrated indoor outdoor living area involving a 'Great Room' that is contiguous with the pool, jacuzzi, and Lanai living area, opening onto a large garden area. The pool and jacuzzi have both a 140,000 BTU solar panel for heating, and an optional 200,000 BTU propane heating system for the Jacuzzi that can bring the hot tub up to temperature in ~20 minutes or less. We generally do not allow guests to heat the pool with the propane heater. This is simply too expensive, and also unnecessary, as the solar system is able to keep the pool above 83F, if the pool is covered at night. In severe cold snaps however, we simply cannot guarantee 84-85F water. Guests are responsible for covering the pool at night, and removing the cover during the daytime, and complaints about the water temperature if you fail to cover the pool at night cannot be helped. Some guests, not reading the listing carefully, have been irate at times about the contingencies on pool heat, so please be aware that we cannot physically guarantee the pool temp in a severe cold snap. These happen typically in late Dec and early Jan. The house also features a state-of-the-art 65" 4k Samsung TV and entertainment system, with NAD electronics and Revel Studio II speakers. Guests on request can obtain access to a 500 album jazz and mixed popular music library of lossless audio files as well as an HDR movie server technology connected with the 4K TV, containing 100+ movies, along with both Netflix and Prime streaming in 4k and HDR. The house also includes a 7kw electric vehicle charging outlet, at $0.13/kw hr. We will be available in person to introduce guests to the home and its extensive technology and walk them through the various systems. We will personally greet all guests on arrival, excepting those arriving from June to mid-October.
Doug and Moe were supportive and helped us with whatever we needed. They went out of their way make it a five star stay. It was a lovely home with a huge pool! It had everything we could ever have needed!

Hosts were delightful. House was very accommodating and we enjoyed ourselves very much! The neighborhood was safe and a very nice area to walk. Near both Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte. Doug was available each time we called with questions. We will rent this beautiful home again.
Doug and Moe are great and responsive hosts. The house was perfect for our group, clean and accommodating. The pictures are accurate though don’t do the house justice. The bathrooms aren’t pictured and are very nice, new and clean (I would suggest adding pics!). Loved the pool and hot tub and used it every evening. Quick trip over the bridge into PG proper with lots of great restaurant options. About 45 minutes to coastal beaches but not a bad trip via 75. Highly recommend!
Our home is in Harbor Heights, which is right on Whidden Bay. It is a secluded and quiet neighborhood, with a clear view of the bay out the front window, lovely neighbors, and quiet roads on which to bicycle with minimal traffic. There is a public boat dock on Whidden Bay less than a hundred yards from the house with ample space for parking even quite large boats.
Adjacent to the public dock is a large and recently renovated public park that includes basketball courts, shuffleboard, and 2 freshly resurfaced tennis or pickleball courts with an excellent lighting system for play in the evening.
There is unfortunately minimal public transportation and you will need your own vehicle. Restaurants are not within walking distance but there are many excellent restaurants in downtown Punta Gorda 10 minutes away, including the iconic Fisherman's Village which has excellent Seafood, Italian, and Asian as well as more classic American fare. The best local shopping is one stop either north or south on Interstate 75 or to the West on Tamaimi Trail (Route 41). There are Walmarts both one exit North and one exit South on Interstate 75.

We are a couple transitioning to an active semi-retirement. Moe is in the nonprofit philanthropy world, while I am in behavioral and clinical neuroscience. This Florida home has been great for us, and we have completed the move to a new property next door. We are now in that property full time for the entire winter. We will be available for all of the Prime Season rentals, greeting guests in person on their arrival, and giving them a hands-on introduction to all that the house and area offer.
