Mahoroba is the only place where you can camp with such a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi. If you go a little further up, you will reach "Mother's Shirataki Falls," where Oshi is said to have purified himself before climbing Mt. Fuji, and if you go down a little further, you will find the historic "Kawaguchi Sengen Shrine." Mahoroba is such a place where you can feel history and nature.

Get off the Chuo Expressway at Kawaguchiko Interchange and head toward Lake Kawaguchi.
Turn left at the Higashikoiji intersection and continue across Kawaguchiko Ohashi Bridge. Once you have finished crossing, head for Kawaguchi Sengen Shrine and take the road that goes up next to the shrine to arrive in about 2 minutes.
It takes about 15 minutes to take the bus bound for Kofu from Kawaguchiko Station, get off at the bus stop called ``Kawaguchi-kyomae,'' and then walk for 15-20 minutes to get to Mahoroba.
A taxi from Kawaguchiko Station costs about 3,000 yen.
