Ann and Jamie were very kind hosts. They welcomed us to the property and made sure we were comfortable. If you’re looking for a remote getaway with scenic views, enjoy cool mist and don’t mind driving from Hilo town, this is your spot! We intentionally booked this airbnb to escape city life for a bit. We’re so glad we did!

So much was right I hate to say what was wrong. Close to impossible to actually prepare a meal…a toaster oven has replaced the microwave, you chop veggies with a table knife, no chopping board, only one cereal bowl (I mean .. zero other bowls),no soap for shower, no hair dryer. Maybe we expect too much, however it seems even a “kitchenette “ should have a kitchen knife. Everything else in the description is right on. I’d book again once I had checked with Ann what improvements she may have made.

It was a beautiful stay in Ann's studio. Everything was spotless and the bed was very comfortable there. The house is very close to the general store and bus station in Volcano and only 15 minutes from the gate of Volcano Park on foot. We had a problem with the oven, which did not work, but Emmy and Ann solved the situation in 15 minutes and brought another one so we could make breakfast. Many books about Hawaii and Volcano Park + 2 board games are on the shelves. We would recommend this stay and would love to come again.

The biggest problem that people should understand is there is no heat in this building! There is a space heater that doesn't work. It literally blows the circuit every time you try to use it. This is a huge problem. It was 57° in there. When I asked Ann about it she offered to give an extra blanket. That doesn't help when you're up and about or trying to shower! If people aren't familiar with volcano it's at elevation so it's not hot like a lot of Hawaii!

Ann's place is just lovely, our stay was great! The gate combination lock numbers are a little hard to see, so bring reading glasses. Everything else is just beautiful, and Ann is extremely responsive.
