Featuring a rainfall shower, a towel warmer, and luxurious shower products by L’Occitane. This is what we call rustic luxury. LIVING ROOM, KITCHEN & DINING The interior of The Sturgeon Lakehouse is flooded with natural daylight all day long to make for a light, easy and breezy stay. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all of the small & large appliances & utensils needed to create a delicious meal to share with family & friends. A large variety of tea & coffee are provided with compliments. We all have different tastes & preferences for oil & spices, so we encourage you to bring your own. An itemized list of all small appliances & utensils that are included in will be listed in the Welcome Guide. Two sets of cookware for outdoor cooking and indoor cooking is provided. —EXTERIOR — PARKING: The Sturgeon Lakehouse has a very long driveway that can accommodate up to 4 parking spots. DECK & DOCK The deck can be enjoyed all day long with beautiful rattan lounging and dining furniture (available from May-Oct), gas BBQ, a fire pit. Just footsteps away from the deck is the big beautiful Sturgeon Lake with its large size and abundance of fish habitat, it is known as an excellent fishing lake, with muskie, bass and walleye. Sturgeon Lake is located in the Kawartha Lakes region of south-central Ontario. It is a large lake with three towns – Lindsay at the south end, Fenelon Falls at the north-west end, and Bobcaygeon at the east end. It is situated on the Trent-Severn Waterway just downstream from Cameron Lake. The Trent-Severn flows into Sturgeon Lake through the locks at Fenelon Falls, and exits into Pigeon Lake to the east through the locks in Bobcaygeon. While Sturgeon Lake is perfect for fishing (a lot of vegetation) and kayaking/canoeing - it is unfortunately not so perfect for swimming due to its very weedy nature - we do not recommend it. We are located on the canal side of Sturgeon lake. We encourage you to explore any of the 15 nearby beautiful public beaches and beach parks that are home to Kawartha Lakes for swimming. See the Welcome Guide for more details. The pictures on the listing were taken during the spring season when the water is the clearest. ACTIVITIES The lake is good for motorboats, paddle boarding, kayaking etc – the lake is not landlocked so you can access other lakes right from the dock! Motorboats and ATVs are allowed, but please give us the heads up upon booking or 3 days upon check-in. There are nearby ATV trails and you are welcome to purchase a pass as long as you inform us in advance of the booking. Please provide details of any motorboats or ATV you're planning to bring at the time of booking. At The Sturgeon Lakehouse, you have access to the following water activities: Fishing (with a license), kayaking, canoeing, and paddle boarding. Due to us providing these water toys and the property being waterfront, we will request guests to sign a Liability Waiver prior to check in. We offer: - 2 sit-in Kayaks w/ paddles - 1 Pedal boat (seats 4-5) Although we do have 4 adult life jackets and 2 kids life jackets outside for our own personal use, we recommend Guests bring their own life jackets and if they choose to use ours then it is at their own risk. EVENT PHOTOGRAPHY No event or professional photo or video shoots without prior approval (there is an additional location fee for events or shoots for profit of any kind.)
