A unique grade-listed cottage, dog-friendly, and just 5 min walk from the centre of Llangollen. Built in 1785 by Thomas Telford (who built the nearby Pontcysyllte Aqueduct). The property has large covered utility and porch areas (perfect for storing outdoor equipment, bikes, kayaks, paddleboards & walking gear or as an area for your dog) . It also benefits from a dedicated driveway and garden with views over Dinas Bran Castle. The Old Tollgate House is an historic cottage with two bedrooms and its own parking and garden. It has a cosy, homely appeal and is ideal for a couple or family. It is ideally situated within the town of Llangollen just off the main road through the town. The master bedroom has a double bed and walk-in wardrobe, whereas the other bedroom has a bunk bed (with a double on the bottom and single on the top). The living room has a smart TV and an ample supply of board games and books for all ages. In addition there is a dining room and well equipped kitchen (with oven, hob, fridge freezer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave etc). There is a side porch/boot room as well as a sizable covered utility area which houses a washing machine with dryer, ample drying space and is ideal area for your dog to relax after a long country walk! Outside, there is a driveway and private garden over looking the ancient hilltop ruins of Dinas Bran Castle.
Lovely little cottage close to the centre. Friendly host. Could have done with advertising that the main bedroom was accessed by going through the 2nd bedroom. Not a problem for us but could be an issue if 2 couples are staying?
Our second stay at this beautiful cottage. This is such an amazing location and a home with so much character and warmth. Joanne made us feel very welcome and was on hand if we needed anything. We will definitely be back again!
We loved the house; Very historic, great location, clean, cosy and had everything we needed. Easily walkable to town. Perfect for what we needed. Shame we couldn't stay longer. Would recommend.
