Get back to nature and relax! Nestled in the heart of Spearfish Canyon, the cabin is available year-round. Located 15 miles from Lead-Deadwood, Terry Peak ski resort, and Spearfish, guests have easy access to beautiful scenery, wildlife and outdoor activities. The front deck overlooks Spearfish Canyon byway where guests can hear the gurgling of the creek or guests can relax on the private back deck with lots of seating. Bring your family to create wonderful memories in the magical Black Hills!! This property features several distinct areas. The main cabin: this is the original cabin built in the 1960’s. This portion of the home includes a cozy, functional kitchen (but no dishwasher so bring lots of paper plates!). There is a small eating area and a full bathroom (please note that there is no ceiling to the bathroom due to the pitch of the roof). The main living area in this section includes two hide-a-bed sofas and two futon style chairs that would be perfect beds for small children. There is a smart TV for streaming on your favorite apps. Breezeway: this area features a table with seating for six, a cozy reading area, and extra seating that can be used on either the front or rear decks. Main level bedroom/bathroom: the main or “master” bedroom features floor to ceiling windows, a queen size pine bed, a cozy log loveseat, and a 3/4 bath. We recently installed new tempered glass windows to help maintain temperatures and reduce noise from the highway. Lower level bedroom/laundry area: this extra sleeping area features a queen size bed. This is also where the utility area is for this side of the home (water heater, washer and dryer, sump pump). Please note: the stairs leading to this area are very steep so please be careful. Front deck: the front deck overlooks the Highway, the creek, and a beautiful view of Spearfish Canyon. Sit on the front deck and watch all the passersby while you enjoy the soothing sounds of Spearfish Creek. Rear deck: this spacious deck offers lots of seating and two full-size grills available for guest usage. It is very private and quiet. The bunk room: this extra sleeping space is located in the rear of the garage. It was recently updated with two queen size beds and a sectional sofa for extra sleeping space. Please note that there is currently no plumbing in the garage/bunk room. Guests need to use the bathrooms in the main cabin. The Electric Vehicle Charger is located in the garage. Guests may charge their EV, free of charge, while staying at the cabin. Please notify hosts if you wish to use the EV charger to ensure you have access to the garage.
