From the moment we entered the cottage, we felt "right at home". it was very appealing to the eye, had a very functional layout, as well as quality furnishings. Although being set in a country lane (gated entrance and secure environment), it was only a 10 mins drive to the nearest shopping malls and 15 mins drive to Auburn CA. Obviously, a car is a necessity, as anywhere outside of any U.S. city. There is an adjacent school, with a sports field that runs alongside the grounds; we enjoyed watching the activities and hearing the kids having fun. . As we were there for the mountain trail races, it suited our purpose perfectly, with easy and relatively quick access to the surrounding state recreational parks and canyons. Paul (the host) and his family live directly across from the cottage, so as well as easy text and mail communication, the occasional "face to face' encounter will occur; if you are lucky, also with Hank, the dog. We would highly recommend Paul's cottage.

I stayed here with my mom after having medical surgery and needed somewhere to rest and relax. This cottage did not disappoint beautiful and cozy extremely peaceful and quiet. The place was so clean and had everything we needed for a one week stay. Would recommend to anyone looking for a long term stay, I recommend at the clinic.
