The cottage is set on a hill overlooking a small village in the Forest of Dean. You will be surrounded by beautiful scenery from the moment you wake. At the end of the lane, you will find steps which lead to the River Wye.
The village has a well stocked shop with Post Office, two pubs, Indian takeaway and a fish and chip shop.
You will be on the doorstep of the forest, perfectly situated for walkers and cyclists with an abundance of walks and bike trails.
There are a vast range of activities nearby, suitable for all tastes. Whether its kayaking on the River Wye or treetop climbing at GoApe; exploring the vintage shops and craft studios of Ross-on-Wye; retail therapy in Gloucester Quays or Cheltenham or visiting the historical sites of Hereford Cathedral (and the Mappa Mundi), Goodrich Castle or Tintern Abbey.
The Forest of Dean cycle centre, with trails, bike hire, coaching and a cafe is three miles away.
Kerne Bridge which is the launch for kayaking is a 5 minute drive.
Symonds Yat is a short drive away, where you will be able to take in the most spectacular views of the Wye valley and River Wye. There are also some great river side pubs and a hand ferry across the river.
Distance to Ross-on-Wye 7 miles; Monmouth 10 miles; Gloucester 18 miles, Hereford 20 miles and Cheltenham 25 miles.

You will be wonderfully situated to explore the Wye Valley and the beautiful counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire.
It is recommended that you bring your own transport to get around.
The nearest train station is Gloucester. The local bus service provides access to Ross-on-Wye, Monmouth and Gloucester (the bus stop is a five minute walk from the cottage).
There are several local taxi firms in the area.
We have two parking spaces for your use during your stay. These are approximately 30 metres from the house.
