Tranquillitas has been a lovely experience (and full of surprises!) especially for my parents, who needed a change of scenery owing to their health issues. Every little detail about the house — the elegant furniture and upholstery, the beautiful garden with seasonal and rare flowers and quiet nooks — made it very special. It was great to hang out with Rainuka and talk about our work, travels, Shimla and even politics! It didn't feel we were meeting for the first time. The location is also perfect — barely 20 mins from Shimla airport! It was a big factor as transport can be a big hassle given the road conditions in Himachal. We found the food a bit expensive considering we are small eaters, especially our parents and 6 year old son. But it was fresh, and most importantly cooked with love. Special mention to Sureshji for taking care of all our needs. We'd 100% recommend Tranquillitas if you are looking for some down time, and most importantly, love nature.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Tranquillitas cottage. It was so peaceful and relaxing and kids had an amazing time. We loved that the location is quite, eco friendly and away from the busy streets of Shimla. Lovely sunsets, waking to birdsong, sleeping to the sound of the stream running through the grounds and eating organic home grown food was our highlight. We were very well looked after by Suresh and Rajesh; and Rainuka and Aunty’s company was delightful. We even managed to watch an All Blacks Rugby World Cup game at night! We will definitely be back.

Tranquillitas is a Gem in the wilderness.Had an outstanding stay.Beautifully done place, personalized services and quietly helpful staff. Ideal for those looking for a peaceful time off in a place with a difference. The clouds in the cottage is an experience only in the rains, I am told.

I recently stayed at Tranquillitas and it fell short in several areas. I was staying with a family of 5 as 2 couple and child. The food was basic, with limited options and underwhelming taste despite the high price (not mentioned clearly in description) and to add no outside food is allowed the property. The Wi-Fi was nonexistent, making it inconvenient for work or leisure activities. Additionally, the sewerage system malfunctioned in one of the bathroom, creating an unsanitary environment. The caretaker provided subpar service, showing indifference and unresponsiveness. For example - Bedsheets/Blankets will not be changed even when its dirty with stains until you stay there for 3 nights and crockery were not clean enough to use it straightaway. Considering these issues, I cannot recommend this property to travelers with children despite its appealing location and aesthetics. I hope the host addresses these concerns for future guests.
