自我介绍

Creative, arty, entrepreneurial, curious, worldly, friendly lover of animals, gardens, growing things and people. I paint, garden, write and walk a lot in the bush with my animals. I work too hard, and lay painfully in a bathtub after I do, swearing I'll never do that again, and the next day I do. We need soul food, and sometimes we forget that and don't know what's wrong with us. It's hard to pin that down but it's not hard to know it when you see it. For me, that takes the form of beautiful views, big trees, gardens, music, art, free-thinking, and 'often inconvenient' animal disruptions. Animals, like children, get our feet grounded in the things that matter. Love, life and being present in the moment. I have travelled and lived in all sorts of places both in Australia and overseas, from deserts to tropical islands, and yet I almost missed Balingup. It was right under my nose the whole time. There is plenty of soul food here, that's for sure. I have been looking for something in my life I could not really nail down until I came here. The first clue I got was a visit to the Golden Valley Tree Park, where the old Greek saying "A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in" ... jumps up and tells you what this place is all about. Balingup didn't just randomly acquire the feeling it has, the essence of the sense of place was recognised and carefully preserved - not by 'councils' making big wide roads (there are none here) but by locals who cared about the soul of the place. This is what I am about. These are my values. "To plant a garden is to believe in tomorrow." Homes (even away from home) are sacred and special, and it's important to me that your stay will be the same.
